One alternative is Horrible has ddl on their homepage. Erai-Raws provides ddl at their website also. Other sources often have ddl on their discord website.
I for one like the "ugly" design. I'd certainly hate for the site to become another javascript-heavy, ENTERPRISE QUALITY design with time-wasting animations.
In other words: Current design -- SOUL Potential redesign -- SOULLESS
Thanks for the note. The email verification is only there for allowing password reset emails, otherwise it's pointless. If you aren't afraid of forgetting your password, you don't really need it (and if you do, you can just create a new account).
No clue why they'd blacklist the IP - hardly any email gets sent from here. Maybe someone got bored and decided to randomly add some IPs or something. I did check the IP on those multi-blacklist checkers, and it seems that only Barracuda Central lists it as blocked.
You may guess that I don't care too much about email here, as it's not really used, but since you mentioned it, I've sent through a request for review anyway.
Thank you for submitting your request. If this is your first request, your IP address will have its reputation increased to "normal" for 48 hours while we investigate. It may take up to 1 hour for the reputation increase to propagate to all Barracuda Spam Firewalls globally. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
Just to mention, ever now and then I get a Zippy page that says 'downloads are not allowed in the US'. It disappears after a while and is replaced with the download. Given their history, I take this to mean Zippy is prepared to drop the US at a moment's notice when they decide to.
I noticed my email address hadn't been verified, and couldn't get a verification email because of this.. I have been considering an entire rewrite of this website, as there's quite a number of issues with it. It's just that it'd be a fair bit of work, and the last time I asked around, there wasn't enough interest. If you're interested and willing to help out, I can see what resources are available and we can then come up with a plan.
I have been using the site for a little while now. It is a great place to find shows. But damn the site design is ugly. Even so much that i am willing to assist in a redesign and execution if needed.
Yeah, and the method of blocking was strange (HTTP worked, HTTPS didn't). Just checked again, and HTTPS is no longer being blocked... so I've re-enabled Sendspace uploading (though I'll probably still look at implementing another host anyway since it doesn't seem to be that popular). Maybe some glitch in their setup or something.
As above commenters have mentioned, a traceroute can give an indication as to where the connection is being dropped - if it stops responding within a few hops, it'd be something closer to you. If it gets most of the way to the server, it's probably something related to the host. The hosting provider here has been known to filter out addresses, so that's entirely a possibility.
If it appears to be a server end issue, try dropping your traceroute output, along with your IP address, here and I can ask the host to look into it. If it's possible, try noting down your assigned IP addresses when you can and can't connect. Otherwise you may have to resort to using proxies/VPNs or similar to access the main site (or stick to using the mirror).
The feed actually includes both torrent and NZB. You may need to signal your client to prefer the NZB. If that doesn't work, you can try appending '?only_nzb=1' to the URL (or if there's already a '?' character in it, append '&only_nzb=1' instead).
