I think you may be selectively reading into it a little too literally. This is primarily a feedback page, not an 'anything goes' page. We can be a bit liberal, but please respect common sense and show consideration for others.
Thanks, I've updated references here to their new format (though I suspect they'll have to support the old format indefinitely due to how long it's been around).
If there is one thing worse than a fucking moron like reddit-kun above, it is a reddit-kun who can't fucking understand simple fundamental principles, and then preceeds clutters the internets with his inane suggestions and demands.
Who the fuck are you to tell people where and how to enjoy the internet.
Admins put this board here for everyone, not just you and your ideads of what is and isn't suitable.
Its right there at the top of the page. Learn to read before going all uber virtue signalling you twat
I quote: "This is a somewhat temporary page made especially for the beta version of this website. It's to collect all your death threats, love messages, requests to the code monkeys or just suggestions/issues/questions/criticisms/idle talk or whatever feedback you think is worth our database space."
Ya. It's called a Strawman argument. When shills have no reply, they resort to the stuff you describe. I think more and more folk are aware that 'tactic' nowadays.
The problem is punks like you feel the need to bash the U.S. and U.K. (which is more likely than not you live in one of them) and praise every other country. The solution is move out and go live in one of those other countries. I guarantee you that you dont know as much as you think you do about them.
almost all smaller independent countries, and the Brics also (Brazil, Russia, India, China, etc) have a set remembrance day each year honouring the dead of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
By the way, congrats on your grasping the obvious meaning of my previous comment. Perhaps your teacher could give you some left-over 'participation trophy' to mark this achievement in your life.
Anime Tosho is a free, completely automated service which mirrors most torrents posted on TokyoTosho's anime category, Nyaa.si's English translated anime category, AniDex's anime category (filtered) and all HorribleSubs releases.
It wasn't mirrored because it was submitted to the wrong category.
Speaking of 'conspiracy theories,' one theory about ways to discourage people from discussing a topic is to denegrate the group on a personal level instead of addressing the facts and logic - or lack thereof - of the group in question.
For instance, sarcastically saying 'profound wisdom' about 'anime pirates' (as if liking one thing excludes the ability to have knowledge about anything else) - could be seen as a tactic to make people doubt the validity of the conversation.
However, since it's common knowledge that they (the 'anime pirates,' I mean), are devoid of the ability to understand history or interpret anything based on currently known facts, I suppose you need not worry about your point. Carry on.
Addendum: I put "they" in bold letters because it is clear that you came only for the discussion. You are obviously not a mere 'anime pirate'! Neither am I, senpai. Neither am I.
Oh good, a page of anime pirates sharing their profound wisdom about world war II, conspiracy theories and world events. It's just what the world has been waiting for.
What is the point of harping about something that happened almost 80 years ago anyway? Its like blaming all modern day Germans for Hitler. No sense worrying about the past. Show respects, learn from it, be better, and move on.
This has been a good few posts, I cannot see the 'Harping on' you refer to, I do see some showing of respects and people expressing themselves in a way that can be viewed as trying to learn from the past.
Why do people feel the need to tell others to 'Move on' all the time anyway? Who has the right to do that? What should they move along to? A world were we quickly forget things like this because it's too painful? Too inconvenient? Too boring for some?
People can take as long as they like with these things in my opinion, and the more time spent pondering these things might result in less of this kind of thing happening in the future
We have days for those mate, VE day, VJ day, Armistace day were they wear poppies in the UK and so on. Of interest here is that the rest of the world recongnise Nagasaki and Hiroshima day, whilst UK and USA, and closely allied nations completely ignore it, at an official level at least.
The Atom Bombs were not even the highest cause of casualties and Fatalities in Japan itself, in a country that made its homes from wood and paper, the firbombing campaign was devastating. For a very human portrayal of those fire bombings see Ghibli's Grave of the Fireflies.
The Atom Bombs however, were and still are the absolute pinnacle of mans inhumanity to man.
But these threads always degenerate into splitting hairs.
That said, Pearl Harbour is a verified inside job. Documented at least to the point that they new the planes were incoming, and they stood down because it suited them. Who is 'them'? Well, that is the real issue. 'Them' certainly is not the public, who did not want war. The public never does, this is why we have fake shit and false flag shit. 'They' currently have their eyes on Iran. Watch out for events and propaganda in that direction
A moment to remember those who died during WWII, the majority being those on both sides who were not part of their nations military. Atom bombs were not even close to being the most horrible things that happened during that war. They do mark the effective end of a horrible war.
I wouldn't draw any conclusions about western society from something like HBO, a private entertainment company. It's like drawing conclusions from a Disney movie.
I lived near a similar graphite reactor at the time. We only hoped that there are specialists who understand what went wrong and it won't happen again anywhere.
As for west versus east information, are you referring to the trustworthiness of Chinese State news or something? Worldwide skepticism for all is justified.
Ummm the Soviet Union lost 20 million in WWII. Few even know that let alone any remembrance.
Say what you will but they started it when the U.S. minding their own business and completely staying out of the war. Sure nukes were wrong but blame is on both sides. Japan was far from the peace loving country it is today. Maybe read up on some history as to why China and Korea fiercely hate the Japanese from actions all the way to the mid 20th century. No one likes war but I hate dumbasses who act like it was one sided.
The Soviet Union has been far from great either. Notorious for starving their masses while the rich and government ate like kings. Especially in the cold war. Not as bad as North Korea but the point is communism has a lot of issues too. There is no perfect government.
What is the point of harping about something that happened almost 80 years ago anyway? Its like blaming all modern day Germans for Hitler. No sense worrying about the past. Show respects, learn from it, be better, and move on.
It's a sad fact that Western mass media shape (at least) Western people's opinions on many (or every?) issues by bombarding them with their own interpretation of news and instilling their views and stories in the public mind by repetition and more importantly by highlighting some news while downplaying and understating other (more important) news which isn't in their interest.
An example among many others is HBO's Chernobyl. While the total direct deaths caused by the Chernobyl accident is only 60, they've produced a highly publicized 5-episode series to slam and blame Soviet Union administration. But has there been any movies or series (like Chernobyl) that deal with the atomic bombings of Japan by the US (with the consent of the UK) which resulted in direct death toll of at least 220,000 people?! 😔
I I thought of this thread when I was rewatching some Non Non Biyori yesterday. The Dropping of the Atomic Bombs were in August, height of the summer, there would have been kids in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, just like Hotaru, Konomi, Natsumi and Renge, all running around enjoying their summer break. Then Boom, gone in an instant, hundreds of thousands of people. Everything.
Like you say...The technical details given in any and all western articles and documentaries on the event, "All very exiting and interesting from a barbaric beurocratic killing machines perspective"
I think its the same across the NATO styled alliance nations, but almost all smaller independent countries, and the Brics also (Brazil, Russia, India, China, etc) have a set remembrance day each year honouring the dead of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was a hell of an event in human history, and it is a quite a big deal for a very large part of the world, annually.
But for those of us from UK, USA, Germany, France etc, well most of us grew up not giving a single thought to Hiroshima and Nagasaki day, and if we did, we learned of it from a non establishment source, certainly not school or state media.
I saw an recent article in a major publication that focused on the bombings from a western viewpoint, the creation of the bombs, the naming of them, the planes used, and the backups and so on. All very exiting and interesting from a barbaric beurocratic killing machines perspective I'm sure.
No respect or remorse shown in the article at all.
