Thanks admin for bringing back Direct, it's embarrassing to request links for other ppl here that are very nice ppl like RamenSub & 00sashaha special mention for some files that I/some anon can't fetch for some issues.
thank you guys, love ya no homo just thanking gahahaha
Sure, dont worry. Just one last thing, the Chromanin books *will not spwan* unless you actually read them. Read the first and the second will spawn and so on.
So, see ya! Im off to download some more Kametsu anime, and Miku music, and play some TOB am LRFF13. And try out DX11 for G1,2. Bye. (Im happy that the DX11 mod has godrays!)
I completed it too but with the help of guides. I got as far as the island by myself. I really cant remember the loot right now. But when I read the guides there were also ppl saying that there were other endings. Goddamnit ... search for me on MAL. We polluted AT enough.
I know I know! Iim so excited! The hero looks like Kai Rosenkrantz, Diego is (i dont know his name, but I have a Photo in the Manual Book, and Skip the pirate is Bjorn Pankratz! Afaik. But, the nemeless hero does have a secret name! Diego, Milten, Gorn, Lester, Xardas, and, Elius.
Chromanin, did you do it? I swear I did it. I'll play it again and send you screenshots.
Chromanin I is in the caves beneath the swamp camp and Fog Tower, held by a skelet mage. Chromanin II is on top of the Citadell ovelooking the Old Camp. Chromanin III is between the two rivers where the lurkers are at the bottom of the cliff, Chromanin IV is only obtainabe after reading the previous, from Horatio, only if you already did his quest (the entire Horatio quest - freeing his mentor weed maker in the pub on the lake, and Chromanin V is back at the beginning - "You will find me where it all started", what you find are a dozen skelet and 3 skelet mages above a corpse of an old man with a ponytail, back down at the same place where the first Book was. What is the goal is his loot. A few rare scrools, and a blank runestone.
I think this quest was really fun and filled with intrigue. The books themselves were so fun to think about!
Lololol dude they decompiled the games scripts and that mission is nothing more than what it is. AFAIK the nameless is created in appearance with one of the devs. I do have MAL, but I use it to keep track of what I watch with Taiga and don't post anything else, maybe a help id an anime from time to time. If you want I'll add you but I won't post mine here lol.
Yep, I'll stop too. Thanks for sharing that with me, codemon! Im really happy that you love Gothics, they will live on forever!
Do you have MAL? (I have 2 secrets I think you might like: I finished Chromanin on my own, and, I know the name of our nemeless hero...would you like to know? I'll tell you on MAL.)
Have no fear. The thing works pretty well. It's just a dll that translates older directx calls to newer ones, i.e. the game still thinks its talking to directx 8 when the calls are actually directx 11 (very clever stuff). Having said there might be problems, not that I've encountered any, but IMO you're too paranoid regarding the most curious stuff. Can't say for sure but the patch will probably fix most issues you mentioned.
Regarding the game I've done some stuff too tbh :D. In G1 I used to lure powerfull creatures like shadowbeasts and swampsharks for the guards/templars to kill and me to loot. I was obsessed with animal trophies. I didn't kill critters until I could loot them thoroughly. I always beat up that dude with the yellow crossbow early on and was a beast mid game. In G1 still I forged crude swords like a mofo until I could beat Wolf and steal all his stuff. Never paid for anything after that lol.
In G2 that part where you arrive in the colony at night really hit me good. I binged the game when I got it so it was night irl too during that part. That feeling of sneaking, well morelike stumbling, behind the orcs all night and at dawn making a run for the battering ram was freaking great. I always saved Jergan when the orcs attacked the mine later on. When I finally made it to the castle my dad saw that I was still awake and told me to go the fuck to sleep lol.
I could go on but I'll stop here. Here's hoping admin doesn't ban us both.
Glad you like it :D. I'ts so satisfying to hear people appreciate your work. Probably why admin keeps running this site even though it causes him some headaches.
I think you must have played Gothic somewhere between 1999 and 2001. Gothic 2 came out in 2002 as far as I remember. Thank you for reminding me about the DX11 patch! I seen it in 2013, I think, but I was scared that it was harmful (system lockups and force restarts with the possibility of damaging the pagefile are my biggest fear). Thank you for giving me curage to try it out. Im happy you talked to the autor, so now Im 100% sure to go for it. By the way, I really look forward to it because since I installed win 10 three weeks ago, I encountered strange problems with Gothic 1 and 2 (GOG).. It forces them in windowed mode, strange sound burst at the beginning of G2 and, the Ore Nugget in G1 inventory is not visible! That last one shocked me because it was all fine on win 7. Do you think the DX11 patch will fix it? I think It has to do with the object fov for the inventory since all the items there are actually 3d, not a texture picture.

I was always obsessed with Ore Nuggets. On my first playthrough I actually collected 1000 ore nuggets even before Thorus at the Castle Gate in the Old Camp asked me for that same amount so I can get in. Of course I didnt give it to him because I was ALWAYS saving for armor. The swords I usually made myself at the Camp forge, or found them while out on my usual long hunts and attempts of ambushing orcs in the Orc Land. I actually loved the Swamp Camp most. It was so mystical at night when all the ore lamps turned on. I was like, 40 hours in an novice loin cloth. I loved it that much. I used to go SNAPPER hunting in Cavalorns canyon in the Novice Loincloth and with a Two Hander. I would sneak up on them on the brige and then wait for one to smell me and I slowly started to back away, then fought far enough from the other snappers. It was insane, I was side-running around it waiting for an opening by forcing it to run to a wall or simply hitting it the last second when it charge run at me head on. When It had to turn around I hit it in the side...I got so practiced that I almost never ended up dead from the snappers, when I was too weak I could manage to run away... I actually did so many things and exploring before joining any Camp.(All in my Novice Loincloth I bought from the templar at the Gate of the Swamp Camp for 250 Ore Nuggets, or was it 500..)
I would love to hear some of your experiences in G1, G2. (I know this is not an adequate place, but just a bit... )
Try one of my stylish themes for AT. Just install the stylish plugin for your browser and click "Find styles for this site". They're both the same red but IMO way easier on the eyes than the default and they work on the mirror too.
Damn ... 26 here. Cant remember when I first played Gothic. I did play them in release order. I'll never forget how much german I listened to cuz NotR wasn't translated for a while. Finished all games except Gothic 3, even that pos Arcania. Can't say I clocked as many hours as you though. Do you know of the DirectX11 patch for Gothic 1 and 2? The same dude is doing a reimplementation on the engine. Old video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjEpN3I8Ovc . He and AT admin are like gods among men when in comes to coding and IT, honestly. I've talked to them both and the clever tricks they pull off are almost too smart. Working in IT too I understand what they do, but can't really match up to them.
