The attitudes of the admins on the forums there didn't give me the impression that they'd give out keys, so I never bothered asking. I also made an effort to not disclose how I was obtaining AniDB data until recently, to avoid them shutting down the API. I assume their fear is over competitors using their data, so my leaving the TCP client in an unworkable state hopefully doesn't worry them about keeping the API alive, but we'll have to see.

good quality for thermometer display, the color accuracy of these are very bad atleast get from animekai or hianime, to download on android use stargon browser to rip stream of hianime etc
You'll likely have better luck asking that question on Discord.
Some users were asking for a Discord at the time, but it's not something I use myself. Someone offered and made a server, so I just put the link there.

I've been putting off writing this since the shutdown was announced, and predictably it has taken me until the final hour.
I've known about AT since it was a mere few years old, but have only been coming here regularly since usenet uploads started. That still feels like only yesterday, but would appear to be 2/3 of the lifetime of this site. For most of those 10 years of nzbs, AT has been the sole public anime uploader, after the 2017 demise of poster 'Ishouni' and 2 others whose names I don't remember, all 3 of which sprang up after 'Comfun' stopped in ~2014.
AT's nzbs, together with those of uploaders of yesteryear, form an invaluable archive which will (hopefully) live on. Every time I grab an AT nzb from another source, I will remember this site, and your immense contribution and legacy.
A quick glance at your repositories makes abundantly clear (as if more clarity were needed) the sheer amount of effort you have put into running AT. I would like to especially thank you for ParPar, which I have been using in a personal project for 6 years.
Know that you have the gratitude of a great many anons, and take a well-deserved rest. All good things must come to an end; it is precisely that which allows us to appreciate them.
I would like at this point to invite other commenters to charge their glasses and join me in a toast: TO ANIME TOSHO! Cheers.
RIP AT, you never left beta.

Thank you for everything AnimeTosho staff, I will remember this site very fondly. I wish you the best!.
Although I've only known about this site for a few months, it has easily been one of the best sources for Anime torrents I can find. It was easy to find the series you wanted and had detailed information on most files. Thank you for providing an excellent service to the community. I wish you luck in whatever you do after this.
Thank you ADMIN for everything you have done from keeping the site up and running and free for as long as you have done words can't express how greatful I am to you for everything. I hope whatever you have planned for your next chapter in youre life is met with great success.
It was a good run, thanks for everything. Using Nyaa-AnimeTosho Extender to add mediainfo and subtitle preview directly to Nyaa was incredibly useful and I will miss those after the site is gone.
AniDB has 3 APIs: TCP/IP, UDP, http. UDP is mostly for adding files to mylist and far less useful for a site like this. http is the most complete, but so heavily ratelimited it's very easy to get banned, something like requesting the same page sooner than once in 2 days is likely to get you a ban, among other things. tcp/ip api is a private API that only has been implemented in AoM, which is sorta unmaintained for years, but they still provide support for it. This API gets you full database dumps, in a sanitized form, some useful fields are missing that are present in http, mostly fields/tables that got added after AoM stopped being actively maintained. the database dump provided by the tcp/ip one is the quickest, most efficient way, but anidb for some reason is deathly afraid of people scraping their data, in fact they started even using cloudflare that always challenges you in the past few weeks, making their site unusable for many. since admin referenced the AoM client in his docs, I assume he just got the key and figured out the protocol by reverse engineering, which isn't that hard, but I didn't know of anyone besides me and I assume admin that got these values. These dumps are useful to anyone needing to do large-scale lookups that would easily get banned by the http api, since it's basically an offline copy of the site. It's missing some things like character tables and newer metadata like additional site links for an anime or episode - I kind of want these, but there's no way to get it besides the http api, but AT never needed those extra links.
But I have no way of knowing, maybe admin just asked and they gave him the same API key instead of making him a new one? I will just assume he got the AoM key given the repository uses that id.
hey admin, there are reasons to why nyaa is run the way it is. I'm not going to claim to know them, but I do think I have somewhat slightly more insight than you about this (no offense, I respect your work). .si used to have a public/open channel, and something spooked them and they closed that public channel, you can still report any issues with the site and they do take care of it as fast as an hour or sooner from what I've seen. In fact .si's code was even on github, but as you probably know, there have been some attempts to stop nyaa's existence by you know who over the years. the original closing most likely was no accident either, but we probably won't ever know. The most likely reason for closed registrations is that they used to have some moderators which then mostly quit/started having a life, and nyaa used to be get a lot of malware when registration was open that the moderators had to spend a lot of time removing or watching for. They still get some malware through compromised accounts and this still gets deleted. You can understand that they cannot get new moderators as they no longer invite new staff to help them run the site and this is all due to the mentioned opsec reasons. And if you actually want to consider owners that don't give a fuck, remember that one day the nyaa pantsu owner actually let their nyaa clone lapse (domain, site).
I do mostly trust that .si will keep running for as long as they can as they understand that their site is an important backbone for most releasers and fansubbers. Registration or not, I do trust them on this, and I believe that they won't just one day quit to get "more time" (no offense again), they know that it is a very important site for many of us.
I do believe they should open registrations as people really want to post there, even if sometimes people can get an account if they ask privately. I also believe people should mirror nyaa like you do.
Thank you for all your years of dedication in developing Anime Tosho for all these years, also a big thanks to all the contributors that have helped out our beloved @Admin. Know that it is with a heavy hard I see one of my favorite go-to sites for anime content is closing its doors after all these years, however as others have stated in this thread in various variations that you have kept going for this long shows dedication and commitment that is rare even for us "old folks" that where there when BBS boards was "The thing".
Sir (or madam) Admin and Sir's/ Madams that have contributed, I salute you all and I wish you all the best in your "retirement" and future projects whatever they may be!
Again, Thank your time and committed over the years, you will be missed
Not really an exact replica, but if anyone wants mini encode try this site = https://animepahe.pw/ (It may sometimes changes its domain , but the name is always the same)
Thats a good start. Hopefully more to be added in the future. One of the great strengths of AT is the choice to maintain a wide range of ddl sites that enable access to be maximized despite country and regional problems and blocks.

Anime Tosho NEW plans to add BuzzHeavier and GoFile as DDL.
There was nothing insulting in my comment, only pure truth. If the admin thinks otherwise, he is a softy. The one who needs attention all the time is that "duh" dude who is spamming the feedback section with his toxic comments but who am I talking to... just duh posting as anon.

I am using this site since a pretty long time, on a regularly base since 2014, first use mostlikely somewhere in 2013 or even 2012 The whole time it worked for me without a login and (nearly all times) without activating javascript. (Only activated javascript when a new theme came up and i wanted to hold on a previous one) Also i want to highlight the very clean, easy to use interface and no advertisement.
Thank you for all of this and all the effort you put into it.
So i am very grateful to you. Hope the best for you in the future.
Ending the regular service in the night from May 8th to May 9th has a really weird feeling to me regarding the event 81 years ago at the same timeframe. But this weird assoziation helped me to realize how long 15 years are (more then 12).
Also i am grateful to anyone who tries to keep things up in the spirit we have seen with this side. Even when you not might be able to cover all of it or even when you have give up, do to the complexity of things or other reasons, i am honoring the spirit of trying.
As far as i have seen yet, we have two different successors (there might be more or more to come) with complete different approches.
https://aninzb.moe - a complete other development stack with clean minimalistic interface as here - provides allready subtitle extractions, screenshots and ffprobe output, magnet-link, nzb-indexer - a lot of search options - covers all the releases as here - no DDL planned
https://animetosho.xyz - a clone of the site - currently a limited selected number of releases are processed - plans to add DDL
Lets see what the future might bring to as all. :)
