Admin. please let us know if you change your mind in transforming the site in a comunity or delegating it to others. As you may see there are alot of people pleading for the site service.
Admin, if anyone expresses interest in taking the site over from you, please do whatever you can to help them do so. This is especially important now that all the XDCC bots (Arutha Foundation bots and Ginpachi Sensei) that were hosting new releases are now permanently down. If Anime Tosho goes down and there's nothing to replace it, all of our eggs will be in one basket: torrents. It's vital that we have an alternative option to torrents in DDLs. Anime Tosho going down wouldn't be as huge of a deal if the XDCC bots didn't also just permanently go down, but here we are, and this is a big deal.

Thank You, admin. I have appreciated you for around 15 years now and am grateful for what you have done for the community. I am one of the "groups" you grabbed.
You can find dumps of the attachment metadata here. Attachments are stored individually as .xz files. I'm planning to bundle them up somehow as a final dump, after updates stop.
commenttf.7z=common ttf, like dont put the fonts multiple times in but cut them out of the mkv attatchments 7zs and bundle them so each file is packaged only once... relatoons=relations (like which attatchment file is related to which name, magnetlink, url (nyaa/tt))
so maybe also a good idea to bundle multiple mkvattatchments under one 7z so it can compress away common style stuff and thereby reduce more size, but put an list next to the 7z with its content (like filename.7z_l.xz)
maybe strip the big ttf (font) files from the rest and just keep a txt file of removed attachments, recompress the remains and bundel them all to a big torrent and share it (maybe wth a commenttf.7z next to it) together with an xz of the relevant relatoons (csv)...
i am very sad that you are ending your grate service, but thanks for doing his for 15 years, i hope someone will take up the torch and keep running (maybe youll still find a suitable suppressor to hand all of it over to).
In the meantime it would be good if you could bundle a package of all the attatchment/subtitie package including database relevant dump or csv lists of all your attachpks (like https://animetosho.org/storage/attachp...hments.7z) so they can be archived and hosted somewhere else. Its one thing when a torrent goes out of seeds but when it had some important subs you could always go here and get them and put them together with another video file, so this is imho one of the most important features of AT ;)
I know asking for feature requests when the site is going to die in a few months is futile, but here it is:
You've recently added nekoBT and often many releases are uploaded to both nyaa and nekoBT, but by default if the site registers it as a nekoBT upload, it seems to skip the nyaa one? Take for example: https://animetosho.org/search?q=salcho...dalist s02 First 2 episodes and all of S01 is on nyaa, last 2 episodes are also on nekoBT. Currently animetosho does not include the nyaa link, nor do they archive the nyaa page including comments. This does matter because nyaa does get plenty of comments, still the primary site people use, it also makes the nyaa torrent archive incomplete.
Oh man! After seeing the message I can't help but feel a bit sad :'(
I have started my anime journey with this website and have been using this excellent service for the last 3 years mainly to download weekly episodes, find new series to watch and looking into the details of different releases via the mediainfo. I also quite like AT's pure html aesthetic (reminds me of the old web) which is more functional than fancy.
As many have already said, thank you very much admin for providing this incredible service for free for so long and wish you good luck for your future endeavors.
This has nothing to do with Sony or CR. The admin just wants to move on to other projects and if your that upset take the files he has offered and will be adding when the date gets closer and start your own site. He isn't betraying anyone, he doesn't owe you anything but he is leaving files for others to start their own.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Let us see you start your own site and work it for 15+ years. He hasn't made any money by choice and you are here bad mouthing the man because he isn't doing it your way. This isn't Burger King.

The death of animetosho is a win for corporations everywhere. You will own nothing and be happy. That's the future you want.

I torrent on the regular. That's what I use the RSS feeds for. You are an apologist for corpos. The death of animetosho is a win for Sony and Crunchyroll.

You understand. It is a betrayal. There are many different avenues the admin could take but instead they choose to betray the piracy community and kill the site.
hi admin, i won't be able to put it as eloquently as some of the other posts here, but thanks for animetosho, it's been useful hope you find success and happiness in whatever you do next
Right, the admin didn't SAY anything about transferring ownership, but they did plan on releasing the backend operations code and such for those who are interested in attempting to make a successor website (which I do hope will happen after May 2026 approaches).
I see, no legacy.... Sad so many here willing to continue admins work and he is going just shutdown, i hope someone can duplicate the structure/functions of this site and move on with it.
Wrong Roy. I've been a pirate longer than this site has been around. I have a seedbox and a VPN for torrenting. I use DDL once in awhile but mainly rely on torrents.
Roy, you are a real dum bass. The admin hasn't "betrayed" anyone. He never claimed he would run this site forever. Get a seedbox and learn to torrent instead of expecting others too provide you DDL for free.

He should've thought of that before pulling the site. Maybe they should've had a successor ready to take the site over instead of killing it. But you just want to see us pirates fail, corpo. I bet you secretly pay for Crunchyroll too, just another double agent who wants to take this site down.

We need a successor site, after the admin betrayed us.
i just find anime in a way which is not feasible in nyaa at all and I guess it would never be, i am trying something with scripts so i could atleast see size of torrent without opening, and i don't expect any good alternative soon as to make website like this stable it takes years and one more thing is I have developed habit of using this site
