Just noticed the change and it kind of feels like the group tag instead of the episode number is a little troublesome since a lot of the time now it seems like the group tag is there in duplicate. I think it's really cool that you rolled this out, I'm just putting it out there that I liked having the episode number there. :)
Obviously, if this is something people like I'm good with that too. Thanks for being open to feedback dude, have a great weekend!
I posted an explanation here. You can take the Anidex torrent download link and submit it to TokyoTosho, if you want it to be mirrored here. You could also just upload the torrent to a file host like https://files.catbox.moe/ and submit the download link to TokyoTosho.
Changing behavior depending on naming scheme doesn't quite sit nicely with me, and I do want to keep titles as unmodified as possible. Search can also be a bit weird in how it works; this is probably more on me than of any practical issue.
I do like the idea in some respect, so will give it some thought. Thanks for the suggestion.
Make a Discord account to upload the torrent to TT from and you're good to go. AniDex (I have an account at among others) has turned to crap over the years because the admin cares about MangaDex and let AniDex go to sh*t.
Hi. I'm looking to upload my torrent on Nyaa or TokyoToshi. Anidex seems like a bust right now? I've got a remaster of the Weathering Continent, hopefully someone can sub it and retime the .ass file from the american DVD to this rip?
If anyone can upload it to the anime torrent sites, please do. If you're uploading on Nyaa, just copy and paste description that's below the archive.org link and mention it's a RAW remaster that has Jpn audio only. Format the file as "[RAW] The Weathering Continent (1992) [VILF-27]Weathering Continent (1992) [VILF-27] LD-Decode" if it's going to uploaded on Nyaa. I've tried, but struggled to upload it there and I can't make a Nyaa account atm. I'm having some trouble uploading to TT. If anyone sees this, help me out. Much appreciated. If anyone wants to fan sub by laserdisc remaster, go ahead. Forward the final result to me before you upload it. Much appreciated.
I guess it could be impossible for some, but most of the uploaders have their tag within [] at the start of the filename, isn't it possible to grab those through that and make it a hyperlink search as described, on the corresponding release page?
The ones not starting with [] would keep the "Tag" info empty ? (it's not like anime titles start are within [] anyway)
Thanks for that. I used to try parsing the group from the name, but reliability was flaky due to the many ways people name their releases, making your proposal difficult. Hiding entries is also somewhat difficult, due to the inability to build an index on a negative condition unfortunately.
Learn to be less spicy, and to be a little more grateful. Everything you're watching isn't falling from the sky. We all give time, effort, and resources (electricity, subscription costs..) so y'all can enjoy all that is available to you right now.
Keep acting like a Karen that owns the place & everything in there, and you'll disgust everyone from ever sharing anything (publicly) ever again.
That starts with Admin and the pretty awful comments on the Ai-kun situation, calling him names (pro-woke or whatever was being said there) when he's the one offering backup to everyone. Y'all should say thank you, and show a little more respect.
- Add a "Tag" area on the release pages (under "Series" for example) with a search button (by Tag name, automatically detected maybe?): => Example: "Tag: [NeoLX]" hypertext linking to https://animetosho.org/search?q=[NeoLX].
- Add a "Hide" functionality next to the "Tag" button:
=> Example: "Tag: [NeoLX] | Hide this tag" + For users, it could be permanent (SQL). + For anons, it could be stored as cookies (?).
The result being that the hidden tag wouldn't appear on the home page unless removed from the banned list under "Account settings" or cookies deleted for anons. Just some ideas, as we're sharing thoughts :p
Nyaa's the next Anidex: admins don't give a crap about it, moderators do the bare minimum, and the community is toxic af. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place to be as a ripper (ToonsHub, VaryG, Erai..), but a terrible place to be as an encoder. So yeah, I think I'll pass.. lol
Thanks for the suggestions. If it helps, you can sort by size. Most submissions include resolution in the title, so you can add a search term to include/exclude those. Whether a torrent contains OPs or a full series is difficult to determine, and there may be no way to implement those unfortunately.
Nyaa closing off registrations is actually a key reason why I've stuck with Anidex for so long. As someone who strongly disagrees with gate-keeping, I intend to always ensure at least one source here is open.
I want to make this clear that this actually has nothing to do with CSAM. It's worth noting that Nyaa has had several incidents, and this is after they disabled registrations. In other words, it's not an Anidex exclusive issue.
Please add a filter to search by size categories: Less than 100mb | 100mb to 1GB | 1GB to 2GB | More than 2GB OPs & subtitles | 720p category | 1080p category | full series
That's a bit annoying to me as my releases were either fetched from Anidex or TokyoTosho, so I'm hoping you won't get rid of the latter as well (doubtful but who knows lol).
thanks for the info admin. I saw your announcement but was confused by the decision. Hopefully a better alternative will show up sooner than later, but I think you made a good call.
I have doubts your attempts to bypass cache would actually do anything. Of course I'd prefer you not - they're there for a reason after all - but there's little I can do to stop you.
To be frank, I don't consider 10 minutes to be that slow. AT only updates from source every five minutes, for one. Your query also includes a search parameter, which causes the query to be sent to Sphinx, and that index is also only periodically refreshed (currently at five minute intervals). You can probably get more recent results if you remove your search query, since it won't be dependent on an index update.
I'm not particularly a fan of dealing with a site that's largely been abandoned and unmaintained. That's probably my main motivation. There's also very few submissions that are unique to Anidex, so it provides little value as well.
I've been hoping for an alternative for a while, but I guess it's not coming unfortunately.
When it comes to the Pro/Anti-AI crowd here you have to cut the whole tree because they all look like "bad apples" to a lot of us who really don't give a shite either way. It's just a nuisance to most of us here because we are not that anal about it.
You don't need to cut down the whole tree just to "get rid" of few "bad apples". Because, that's what censorship actually is. You don't get to say anything.
I have to admit I am curious too ? Is it because AniDex doesn't offer anything that TT and Nyaa doesn't offer ? Because AniDex filtering is sometime lacking or a technical reason ?
I think it was then just very unfortunate timming on my end, it was a simple feed query, smth along the lines of `https://feed.animetosho.org/json?eid=288047&qx=1&q=!(%22DTS%22|%22TrueHD%22|%22[EMBER]%22)e*|a*|r*|i*|o*` kept returning empty data, unfortunately I didn't measure the time but I remember it being around the 10min mark, I assume you'd be quite unhappy if I worked around the caching right?
its so funny to me how all the pro-AI guys have the worst people ever as their support. But also anti-AI guys can't even talk on here either. Admin's stance on these things leading to the most insane malding. I hate AI in most use cases but like, seeing the site implode with discourse is just so funny. Admin just lock all comments under AI-Kun's uploads, it'll save you the headache of having to deal with these people lol
