Thanks for pointing out.
Can't really do much about errors by an external host - I'll just have to mark those as bad on this side...

I'd say 'Mediafire' dropdown header could be either not a link at all or link to the full entry page where people can select all the files at once (what '1 more...' currently does).
As for the keyboard navigation, I haven't really considered it cause I didn't think many people rely on it. However in this case they could click on the torrent/entry name itself to get the full page with links. Also as far as I can tell the EmbedUpload dropdown can't be activated through a keyboard right now either (at least it didn't work in Chrome when Tabbing to it).
I know that things are sometimes trickier to implement than it first appears though.
Thanks again!

just to let you know, in uploadmirror, the mediafire link just redirects you to the mediafire homepage for some reason

Please read the FAQ question: "Is [some file] hasn't been uploaded to [some host]!"

Interesting. I've added it to the EmbedUpload module, but it doesn't seem to have succeeded at all yet...

Thanks for the comment + suggestion :)
That might be a little tricky due to how I've arranged the data. There's also a slight conceptual issue in how to display the parts (will the "Mediafire" text link to the first part, or be no link at all? If the latter, how do people navigating with keyboards operate it?).
I'll consider it though.

Thanks for creating such an awesome web site!
It is great to see someone applying their technical skills altruistically to create something that helps people.
I have only a minor suggestion that could make usage a bit more convenient in some cases: when an entry has more than 1 mediafire file then a link saying "1 more" is displayed which has to be clicked to get the 2 MF files. What I think could be more user friendly in this case is to have a drop down table like for EmbedUpload to appear on mouse over with the list of separate files for the host.
If there are dozens of files in the list, it is probably still better to have a link to the page with all the file links selectable at once but when there are only 2-3 files and only 1 extra host, a drop down should be a good solution.

Am going to prioritise multi-host uploaders.
May include particularly good hosts however. Fileor looks alright from a cursory glance (hint hint: feel free to put your case forward as to why you think it's good :P).

I am interested in this page: http://fileor.com/premium.html which claims 50MB max file size for anonymous uploads (maybe 500MB typo?). Even if 500MB, it's a little small, though I guess fine for most files. Personally would prefer 1GB minimum hosts.

They seem to still be appearing?
Don't know why they don't for a few files though. Probably EmbedUpload stuffing it up.

It's set for every file on this side.

Hi Anonymous, sorry about that - I messed up the cookie expiry. Made some changes, so hopefully when you change the theme next time, it'll stick.
Thanks for pointing that out :)

As for hentai, see the FAQ question starting with "Will AnimeTosho be mirroring files from other"

Hi admin

First of all, PLEASE change the default style to blue, AKA Ika Musume. Since you changed the default style to Henrietta, my eyes hurt every time i visit, and even though i change the style, it is reset again when i visit, so i have to squint my eyes and hurriedly change the style again. This makes it very uncomfortable for me to visit animetosho often. I find it a big effort just because of this very bad purple style which is painful to look at. Please reset the default style back to blue!!

Also, why don't your add hentai to animetosho? I am sure that it will definitely boost the popularity of this site even more!

The host has added us to their UDP whitelist, so at least torrents will hopefully go through now :)
(alternative I was looking would be to try to tunneling UDP over TCP)

Will see if I can fix up some of the broken torrents later. Sorry for the delay.

NT may go down, I don't know. Their trackers have at least.
New trackers, maybe.

Because some asshats like running UDP flood attacks, the host has decided to completely block UDP (bar port 53 since that's needed for DNS), so the server is unable to connect to any UDP tracker.
I believe DHT also runs over UDP, so the server actually has no way to fetch most torrents at the moment.

So they shut down their trackers and their site are going down as well?
And your server cant fetch torrents from NT?
So people cant upload torrents to NT?
Are we in need of new trackers?
Sorry I am not good with torrents and trackers...
Is there any difference between http and udp tracker?
I also notice when i try to download torrents,
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 shows under the tracker tab.

Nyaa has shut its trackers down.Probably because nyaa is a pussy who got scared after all the recent closed sites and  decide to close his trackers when its one of the most depended on anime sites online [second to BBT].The site is still online and using udp though .So maybe you can still get some links. They are not submitting to TT at the moment though when i tried it with the udp links, hopefully TT will add them somehow?.

Thanks for pointing that out.
For some odd reason, it seems that open.nyaatorrents.info and ratio.nyaatorrents.info are resolving to 127.0.0.1 (and I don't seem to be the only one).
I'm actually interested in how anyone is getting any torrents from there. PEX/DHT doesn't seem to be helping...
Maybe they'll come back up, but DNS not resolving is somewhat of a concern.

-update-
Okay, apparently they're shut down: "The NT trackers have been shut down"
Unfortunately, I think UDP is blocked on the server :(

I think earlier someone mention http://jumbofiles.com/ It is also really good.

Both of these allow free users resumable download links, support for download accelerator, no limitations on speed and no captchas.

Okay ,thanks for the reply.I think it may have been the files that where uploaded to TT when the server went down that have  some errors when uploading [that or something in the filenames is causing uploading errors] .Most of the newer ones seem to be working okay now though. On the subject of a replacement for embed ,i just hope it supports RS if /when it happens because i cant seem to get reliable speeds from any other ddl sites at the moment .

Another good host is http://www.fileor.com/. Full speed, parallel, resumeable downloads. You can also register and gain money by hosting.

Have you guys considered using BitShare http://bitshare.com/ to upload files ?
Comment in Feedback
01/02/2012 09:02 — admin
It's enabled for all uploads. My guess would be that maybe EmbedUpload stuffed up somewhere (I have noticed that it spits out errors every now and then), or Rapidshare is blocking the file.

I had a quick look at some big (>700MB) files and others seem to be showing up on RS:
https://animetosho.org/view/bbt-rmx-3x...264.498971
https://animetosho.org/view/o-cardcapt...ogm.498943

I might replace EmbedUpload with something else in the future, but I can't really solve your problem unfortunately :(

It seems that rapidshare is being filtered out on some of the larger links like this https://animetosho.org/view/diogo4d-vo...mkv.498539 after the update.Has it been disabled for some of the uploads? .I hope not because thats the only site i am using for ddl at the moment.

Because the server was down for a few days so you need to give it some time to process everything.
Mediafire especially, because it's a very slow place to upload to, and often spits out errors.

Fair enough, though it's unknown which hosts do that.
But yes, making files resistant to being taken down means less convenience. I'll definitely consider encryption if a lot of files here get taken down.
I would presume most people upload to their account to earn points/income from downloads, which may be a reason why the files you've seen have lasted longer. Files here are uploaded anonymously so they may not last quite as long, but are somewhat resistant to the whole account being taken down. Other possibility is that the files were downloaded more - there isn't a lot of traffic on this site, so I imagine there's plenty of files that rarely get downloaded.

Do you have Javascript disabled? I tried making the CAPTCHA as friendly as possible, but all of that obviously requires Javascript. I guess the without-Javascript solution could be a little better.

Hash use has been talked about a lot by the people who issue dmca deletions.  The most recent article I read about the subject is http://torrentfreak.com/megaupload-wha...on-120120/ though the discussion is about megupload's use of hashes.

I have been following the subject for several years, but as always I miss a major point or two when I synthesize my data into information for others, and you are right about the user account bans, but those usually/used to happen after repeat violations.  I'm not quite sure what the method is but ancedotes seem they've gotten a bit more trigger happy on the user bans. My statements about reports, filenames, and why people encrypt the headers of archives come from extensive experiments people do which I followed.  I don't see the expired links issue come up as much, so my statement on that is much weaker.

By the way it seems I always fail your captcha the first time through ill luck, but I've gotten into the habit of copy, hit the back button, then pasting.
