1. there's no point in being too twitchy about such things. dead should mean dead for hours. 2. if it happens again, it could be interesting for you to also note the time of the last nyaa update as of your message. Right now, as you can see, there is no nyaa gap near the time of your message, 19.:42
Comparing the dates - it just gets older. I guess they are but only alive because of cloudflare and hardly anyone gives a damn anyway. But someone will probably one day. And the net is one of the rare things where there is at least good potential and well it does happen that changes turn for the better. Not everything, quite few things turn worse but thanks to the nets frequency it is .... more likely.
It should be doing this already, but updates can be slow due to how it's currently implemented. If you see an entry changed/removed at Nyaa, you can comment here and I can manually push an update.
Thanks for the suggestion. I mostly don't want to make this place too info heavy, since there are other sites which will do the job better. But I can put it on the 'to think about' list I guess.
yeah that ... it would be nice. But there is no known api for deleted files. And checking for all files regularly is a bit too much. So ... uff ... blame nyaa
AT does usually skip raws. There might be few single files missed but else .... Then again there are few named as raws but actually webrips with subs. Which releases do you mean in particular?
I wouldn't mind if you banned all raws from animetosho, maybe by skipping certain tags. it's just a pointless waste of bandwidth for AT. or are people really downloading this stuff? the files are getting bigger and bigger as well, it's ridiculous. it reminds me of the time when trolls would upload huge blank files of popular movies and label it as high quality.
Well, that and other methods I already do use. Just that it still requires to visit other sites, navigate there and come back here. I don't really know the effort behind such a feature. At last it would be great to be noted as todo for a redesign (if any might be done in the future).
You could try the AniDB link and view the Relation Graph there to see a graphical view of the whole thing. AniDB IDs are directly usable as series IDs here.
Is there some way to view all related stuff of a series (season/special/movie/...)? It's quite disturbing and chaotic to follow the the prequel/sequel links. A better approach would probably be to list them all, while highlighting the current one. In case of too much seasons simply show ... 3? entries before/after and hide the rest spoiler-like by default.
how frequent are you even requesting? I set an rss feed from nyaa on my torrent client to every 10 min and it's usually more than enough, never got banned. Another option would be to host a local server which fetches nyaa for a set of interval then create a script to filter it out.
I assumed you know a programming language or some sort.
Thanks for the suggestion. The idea has crossed my mind in the past, though I feel it's somewhat out of scope for this project, so would have to be implemented as a separate thing. I'm not prepared to take it on at the moment, as I feel I'm already juggling too many things, but as it wouldn't be tied to AT, someone else could easily take this on. If someone does decide to do so, I may be able to provide assistance.
Note that AT does also have limits, though I try to be generous. Resources aren't infinite, so if there ends up being too much load, limits will need to be tightened to mitigate it.
as on Nyaa, you can't mix eng-trans and non-eng-trans listings --too confusing. So it might as well be another website. And I doubt how popular a subject to be worth the trouble.
Would you consider adding non-english releases without ddl, just the torrent? I'm using exclusively animetosho with medusa since nyaa. anidex and tokyotosho start limiting you as soon as you send too many requests(nyaa actually banned my ip like 2 months ago) and I'd be a great improvement if those releases were included here. Thanks and I'm loving this project!!!
The point you do mix up here is the difference in dl. vs. uploading. On dl. in rarest cases you'll reach some copyright trolls and depends on your reaction if you fall for it. Original upload is another thing and here also rare. But if someone rly wants to get you and has the evidence that you did illegally provide that content - that's another story. It depends on many things like the type of content, the company behind (their size/philosophy,...), locations (both you/them), the amount, ... See all the filehosters and warez sites (often by one or a few friends) taken down and sued. EMPRESS/C0000005 (why do you think other groups take care - he was plain stupid not to, said so himself). The list goes on and on.
Then again I once (~2years ago) take a look on the ips of a torrent, near 30 users, except 2 all did use an ip I could relate to a vpn service or seedbox provider. Sure was a special case as I doubt to be the regular - esp on downloaders. It might explain the 31% useage https://dataprot.net/statistics/vpn-statistics/ (though i still doubt that, but who knows. Business use is def. included there too). Anyway - all I did want to say: it can happen if you do provide and very few measures to prepare wont hurt - do they?
Nowruz marks the very first day of spring and is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on 20 or 21 March. Nowruz, also known as Persian New Year, has been observed for more than 3,000 years as the victory of spring over darkness.
This is the correct answer. and you can even make your blog look nice with pictures from the anime you upload. Thats the way to go if your just wanting to share some rare finds. There are tons of nice music bloggers that I vist, sharers of rare old vinyl rips. Just treat your blog like a hobby and don't try to make money from it.
Please don't mess with the website, ignore the idiots who ask for a redesign - They are probably newbs who haven't been coming here long enough to develop an affection for the tosho and it's funny old clunky retro style.
"but there always bad examples where you get sued." That is probably what the guy meant about reddit. It reads like a vague threat, classic plebbit. The feds haven't got the manpower to chase after file-sharing, like the guy said, every now and then they take down a massive website like piratebay.
If you get targeted for file-sharing then you really pissed someone off, and they're using that as an excuse to hassle you, and even then the case would be dropped due to it being totally obvious some fed is picking on you. Like hundreds of millions of fileshares per day and all of a sudden they pick on some random guy? Come on! Everything else is reddit fail and urban myths and ghost stories about that one guy that got a gazillion dollar fine for downloading from limewire.
I mean, seriously, you guys talk as if you consider fact checkers websites a valid arbiter of truth.
A rewrite of the front end been on the things-to-do list for a while. It's mostly just getting the time / priority management for me. However, if you're willing to help, you could start writing something. Database dumps are available to give an idea of the type of data you'll be able to query.
What's reddit? I mean, I'm vaguely aware of it's existence, but I've no idea what it is. By definition, it can't be necessary to download stuff, because I download loads, but I've never used it. I kinda get the same feeling about it as the pirate bay - apparently that's popular still, but I've never used that either! I wish bakabt was still available to use. I bet there's tons of good stuff I've never heard of on there, but it sunk into the hidee hole years ago. If this site goes down I'll probably give up downloading. I can't be bothered to find another safe place, and I've already got more than I could watch in ten years, by which time we'll all be dead or slaves anyway.
Yeah - I do see how that relates to a redesign - not. Btt - I would love to see a redesign of the page - it has been discussed a few times. It's def. causing a lot of efforts esp. when you are not into the web-topic per se. Reading into what's state of the art etc. And thinking of the future have guaranteed yet easy upgrades - not an easy choice. Of course users would benefit and probably on security rating itself on google and likes the page itself. So if possible a change might be inevitable, else prob thinking how to inherit this site. But as long as it fits keep up the good work!
Why do I get the feeling that the ppl blaming reddit on this page are those probably using it the most? Like i am only there when I really need something - few times a year - and not in my lifetime would I think of accusing someone here to search to have any relation on seeking reddit-gold. Maybe I don't get that wright - would that even work posting on other sites? Idk but this seems like some real serious obsession to me, like what? How? Did you even think of s.t. like that?
Wait - so you are saying all that included there is wrong - so torrenting in IRL must be HEAVILY monitored and sued. The information you can take from https://iknowwhatyoudownload.com/ is - idk not matching with that info. And generally a reddit link is all one could take from that comment? Simply WOW!
I torrent when I can't get it any other way. I never torrent recent stuff, and I always block all IPs in all the english speaking countries. I've never had even a warning in 20 years. Just my 1.5 cents.
Do not ask reddit for advice about anything. It is utterly pozzed. I mean it's fine if your a total normie that wants to talk about your latest funkopop purchase but other than that it's just another propoganda hub. JUst try and go against their narratives (basic normie MSM viewpoints on everything) and see how fast your post gets deleted, try it again and see your account banned. (((Gillaine Maxwell))) was a reddit 'super-mod' for fucksake
