A hugely popular title (based on Nyaa stats) from a very popular source.  It was pushed through as a special request.

The goal at AT is a good use of facilities and resources.

So what is your concern about what other people want to watch?  Is there some anime you wanted that you didn't get?

If it's of any help, I think you'll find special requests for new releases are more of a priority here at AT.

AT homepage note:

"10th June 2014: MultiUpload has been disabled as all their links appear to be redirecting to crapware."

Ignore any old links for that service.

I had originally hoped that they'd return to normal, but that hasn't been the case. :(
Perhaps I'll eventually get around to removing all existing links, but as we retrieved the underlying service links, I'm not sure how many of those are dead yet.

The majority of updates come from Nyaa. Even most material posted to TokyoTosho is actualkly sourced from Nyaa unfortunately.
If people post stuff to TT, our listing will get updated, but otherwise, if Nyaa is down, expect most updates to grind to a halt.

Nyaa is not hosted in China.

The Japanese government crack-down story you mention has been discussed quite a bit here and at Nyaa, but I think the Japanese government or Japanese businesses are not likely to be the cause of this DDoS attack on Nyaa, for two reasons:

1. The attack occurred during a US holiday weekend.
2. There are reports the attack included MAL (My Anime List) and possibly other sites which have little to do with government crack-down targets.

It's all guess work and rumors right now, but it seems more like an anime-hate prank than anything else.

We update from torrent sites, not directly from fansubs. And that seems sufficient for now.

If the world were to dramatically change --well, who knows.

Do you guys have any countermeasure for DDOS attacks?Cause im really worried what will happen when u guys go down you are the last line of defense the entirety of anime rests on your servers.

All site hosting services can repel some attacks, no hosting service can repel all attacks. -It depends on the scale of the attack.

DDoS attacks generally last no more than a day or two before they are ended or repelled.

We're probably not as resilient as sites like Nyaa, simply due to having significantly less traffic. But because of that, we're less likely to be targeted.

It's interesting that Nyaa got taken down a second time, but it does somewhat highlight one of the issues with putting all your content on one site...
