If you register an account, you can try to set up some blocks for what you see using your "Account Settings" (under login box).

Re-encodes are actually quite popular here at AT.

That's a pitiful troll question.

Userscloud is so much spam and popup, why not replace it with UsersFiles or 4upld?
16/03/2017 10:33 — admin
UsersFiles is what we used to send files to, but it broke one day (or rather, for a few days), so it was replaced by Userscloud.
I don't know much about 4upld, any feedback?
16/03/2017 17:44 *00sas
We are ONE, we sail under the one banner, WE ARE THE MEDIUM PIRATES!
If you can upload to it, it's rather a reliable host. Good speed for free users and DCMA isn't enforced, since it's an Iranian host, hence files longevity is extended.

PS. Same thing goes for Upera.co (which I use for this reason and it's convenience) and Uploadboy.com (a rather well known host)
17/03/2017 06:48 — Anonymous
ulozto.net (Uloz.to) is also pretty good.
19/03/2017 08:09 — admin
Thanks for the feedback, I'll take a look at 4upld then!
19/03/2017 13:29 — Anonymous: "MeH"
4upld was an exceptional host which supported download managers, download resume capability, parallel downloads and very long-lasting storage of files but as I said before it's quite some time now that it's gone due to various technical and DDOS problems.
12/04/2017 03:55 — Anonymous
Uplod.ws is a replacement for 4upld.
16/03/2017 17:12 — Anonymous
Why do you keep recommending these hosts?

My theory is that all the good hosts (reliable, good service) eventually wind up on the multi-upload services like Jheberg, Multiup and Go4Up. Use Jdownloader to bypass spam.
16/03/2017 18:37 — Anonymous: "MeH"
I should say you're absolutely wrong. There are many great file hosting sites that aren't available on Jheberg and Multiup.

I recommend adding great hosts like ClicknUpload, Zippyshare and the new rising star of hosting world, Suprafiles.co as individual links like Soldfiles not through Jheberg and Multiup. I don't think it needs so much time and work. Just add those hosts to the script ;)

And about 4upld. It's quite some time now that it's gone due to various technical and DDOS problems.

And about all those popups and potential malvertising, I re-emphasize installing of an ad blocking plugin. Don't forget the best one is still uBlock Orogin.
16/03/2017 21:00 *Anonymous
Uploads through multi-uploaders don't add weight to AT's processing.  Separate new uploads add an extra multiple to AT's processing and bandwidth, so need to be well justified.
16/03/2017 21:34 — Anonymous
It looks like AT uploads to 9 locations now.  Increasing that to 12, as you want, would mean a 33% increase in processing and bandwidth loads for AT, and therefore a 33% slowdown in posting links to the AT pages.  That would not be welcome.

'many great file hosting sites no on multi-loaders' --you only named one, Suprafiles.  And if it's a 'rising star' it will probably get on the multi-hosters eventually.
16/03/2017 23:18 — Anonymous
Not to mention the potential increases in money costs, as well.

I don't want admin to have to pay out more.  I want AT to have a long life.
17/03/2017 06:44 — Anonymous
Suprafiles is using the same script as 180upload, Billionuploads... along with come of others that popped up to take their place. These won't last long. It's a game of whack-a-mole. AT needs a reliable host.
17/03/2017 18:14 — Anonymous: "MeH"
I don't have any intention and don't see any need to add to admin's workload and costs.
But I call for a review of multi upload websites and their chosen hosts. Go4Up, Jheberg and MultiUp aren't the only multi host uploading services out there. There are also EmbedUpload, UploadMagnet, MultiUpfile, Mirrorcreator, etc.
Particularly Jheberg can be replaced by better multi uploaders like MultiUpfile and EmbedUplod as they offer more and better hosts.

The chosen file hosting sites within the multi upload sites should be updated too. For example FileFactory, Turbobit, Jeodrive, Uplea, Share-Online, Bigfile.to and Oboom should be replaced by much better and more reliable hosts.
Go4Up offers great hosts like ClicknUpload, UploadBoy, Katfile, Solidfiles, ZippyShare and DownAce and
MultiUp also supports ClicknUpload, Solidfiles and ZippyShare.

Instead of uploading files to OpenLoad, SendSpace and UsersCloud individually, files can be uploaded to these three hosts via multi upload sites due to the fact that many of multi uploaders support uploading to OpenLoad, SendSpace and UsersCloud but not ClicknUpload and Suprafiles.

And we should utilize good hosts like Suprafiles as long as they're alive and working. When they're gone, we can simply replace them with other good hosts.
18/03/2017 01:03 — Envy
Ah Mendokusai....
The admin used to upload to EmbedUpload dunno if the admin ever mention why files are no longer uploaded there.

For the other three I don't think admin ever uploaded to any of them but then again my memory could be wrong. =_=
18/03/2017 23:05 — Anonymous: "MeH"
That's right.
In the beginning (strangely) there were no links to file hosting sites, just Source Links (torrents) existed. (For example: https://animetosho.org/view/anco-2-wor...mkv.422183   |   https://animetosho.org/view/revo-the_w...c67.424498   |   https://animetosho.org/view/commie-wor...mkv.415201   |   https://animetosho.org/view/chihiro-_t...0_h.415471   |   https://animetosho.org/view/horriblesu...kv.418312)

Then files were uploaded to just 3 hosts, 2shared, Rapidshare and FileFactory, via EmbedUpload. (Here's an example: https://animetosho.org/view/chihiro-_t...lu.484875)

After that several individual links (FileFactory, JumboFiles, MediaFire, Rapidshare, etc.) were offered for each episode. And now we're here.

Anime Tosho has evolved properly ;)
19/03/2017 08:31 — admin
We've always created links: http://web.archive.org/web/20110623230...tosho.org/
I've pruned a lot of really old links where the host has just completely died, or all files guaranteed to be deleted from them. We also had a link checker running to try to get rid of bad links (isn't running any more, had problems), so old entries will now show up without links.
18/03/2017 04:01 — Anonymous
You don't think the review of hosts and multi-hosts you call for would add to admin's workload?!

Two points:
1. More or new isn't necessarily better.  Explain the benefits/needs of what you want to change.  What we have right now seems to work very well for most people.
2. There are lots of details to be taken into account in every choice, and you don't consider that at all.  Some hosts only allow small file sizes.  Other will auto-convert and shrink media files if not prevented.  Others require accounts and have monthly limits.  And so on.

Lastly: In your 2nd paragraph you point out that two of our multi-uploaders support ClicknUpload, then in your third paragraph you suggest that multi-uploaders support is somehow lacking for ClicknUpload.  If we have ClicknUpload links (and we do) I don't see the point of complaining.  And you never explain why getting them from the multi-uploaders is a problem for you.
19/03/2017 11:51 *MeH
Possibilities are endless ...
You must be kidding me, man! It's not like reviewing a 400+ pages engineering book.
By reviewing and updating selected file hosting sites I mean (as I mentioned before) simply replacing poor hosts with better ones, i.e. replacing FileFactory, Turbobit, Jeodrive, Uplea, Share-Online, Bigfile.to (Uploadable) and Oboom with ClicknUpload, Solidfiles, UptoBox, ZippyShare, UploadBoy, OpenLoad, Katfile and DownAce.
I really don't think anyone here downloads files via for example Turbobit, Jeodrive, Uplea, Share-Online and Bigfile.to (Uploadable).

There are many file hosting sites out there, some of them are poor (mainly in free mode) while others are better.
Poor hosts are those which don't support/allow download managers/accelerators, don't support resume capability, those that cap download speed to 20-40kB/sec, make you wait n (n= 1 to 12) hours between downloads, don't allow simultaneous/parallel downloads.
Good hosts like ClicknUpload, Solidfiles, UptoBox, ZippyShare, UploadBoy, OpenLoad, UsersCloud, Suprafiles, etc. doesn't force those restrictions.

All of the hosts I've mentioned as better hosts except for ZippyShare (250MB) and Solidfiles (500MB) have an upload limit of 1GB or more and all of them have all the needed requirements to be used by AT (they all support uploading via bots which is a crucial prerequisite for AT and not all hosts allow that).

All the things I've written are carefully considered and right but I don't think you have fully understood them.
Go4Up and MultiUp offer 40 and 27 hosts respectively but the good hosts I mentioned aren't selected within Go4Up and MultiUp by AT.
Place your mouse on Go4Up and MultiUp to see the list of selected hosts for any episode of any anime and you won't see ClicknUpload, Solidfiles, UploadBoy, DownAce and OpenLoad. There is no link to ClicknUpload whether via multi uploaders or individual links.
ClicknUpload and other hosts should be selected from the list of hosts offered by Go4Up and MultiUp before uploading the files. Just take a look at https://go4up.com/ and you will understand what I'm saying.

I don't have any problem with getting ClicknUpload links via multi host uploading services like Go4Up. Someone said that adding ClicknUpload and Suprafiles as hosts will add to admin's bandwidth consumption (see the comment above by 16/03/2017 21:34 — Anonymous) and I suggested that as a solution. I suggested moving OpenLoad, Sendspace and/or UsersCloud links to multi uploaders (because many of them support these three hosts) and offering ClicknUpload and Suprafiles as individual links.

After implementing all my suggestions, hosts on AT will be like bellow:
Go4Up | Jheberg | MultiUp | SolidFiles | ClicknUpload | Suprafiles | UsersCloud or UsersFiles or UptoBox     (You see? No changes in admin's bandwidth ;))

And selected hosts for multi uploaders:
Go4Up: UptoBox | SolidFiles | Sendspace | Zippyshare | Uploadboy | Katfile or DownAce | UsersCloud or UploadRocket or Uploading.site
Jheberg: UptoBox | OpenLoad | Uploaded | NitroFlare | TusFiles | MediaFire or FileRio | Mega or 1fichier or Free
MultiUp: ClicknUpload | OpenLoad | 1fichier | Zippyshare | UsersCloud | FileRio or FilesCdn | Mega or Uppit or Free

Relying on copycat hosts that will disappear in a year or two won't do anyone any good. Like I've said before, if they are good and reliable, they will eventually show up on multi-upload services.
18/03/2017 23:03 — Anonymous: "MeH"
You're saying it yourself. It is 1 year or two not one month or two. Don't you think one year or two is long enough?!
18/03/2017 20:16 — Anonymous
I was here and reading comments while they happened, and I recall reasons for each of the current stand-alones.

As you would expect.
19/03/2017 08:25 *admin
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments!

We've actually tried a lot of services in the past, but I'm not against retrying them, as things can change over the years.

EmbedUpload: our IP was blocked (May 2014), so decided just to stop using it
MultiUpFile: I've actually looked at it about 3 years ago, can't remember why I didn't bother going further, may revisit
Mirrorcreator: Had used it >5 years ago, probably dropped it for similar reasons as EmbedUpload, may revisit
UploadMagnet: Haven't tried this one

I'll look at updating the lists of hosts used by the multi-uploaders. I suppose the listing above are your suggestions?

Adding a new host isn't exactly the most trivial thing, as they almost never supply an API, meaning that you need to write scraping scripts for each host. Then you have deal with limitations that they don't make obvious up front, deal with random failures (generally happens frequently with hosts) and update scripts whenever they change their site.
Still I don't mind switching hosts, though I do prefer to avoid something that just popped up yesterday (not saying this is the case by the way), and generally seek multiple opinions before proceeding. Nonetheless, appreciate the info!

#Even a Pawn can take down a King#
Two suggestions from me, that fit together with MeH's:

a)
Separate SolidFiles uploads should definitely stay in. Good speed, perfect persistence of storage (if there's a file access withing some months),  TLS for everything, great working resume feature and in the market for over ten years now make it unique. Some time ago uploads to SolidFiles were packed with 7-zip to improve upload handling. This worked afair very well, but sadly was canceled, because of some guy, who complained about the missing streaming feature. Well, with uploading the plain files to SolidFiles via Go4Up we could have the best of both worlds.

b)
I would really like to see MEGA uploads via Jheberg/MultiUp coming back. Download speed and (often, not always) persistence of storage were great.

To let everybody experience the performance of ClicknUpload, Suprafiles and DownAce, here are some files with great quality yet small size (720p, HEVC) by one of the best (if not the best) H.265/HEVC encoders out there:
20/03/2017 00:28 — Anonymous
Well then, here's the report card.  I tried all 3 host on a couple different files each.  These are feeble hosts.  The winner was clicknupload with 250k/sec, although I usually get 500k/sec with the clicknupload links from AT.  Suprafiles was 80k - 150k, and downace reported all files as unavailable.

Results differ for different people in different parts of the world.  I would use clicknupload as a last resort, if my favorite hosts were unavailable, as it is much slower than the service I get from other hosts.  I would use it ahead of some slow turkey host that wants captcha's or such.

You should only post anime links at an anime site.  admin should see if he wants to delete these non-anime links.
20/03/2017 02:43 — Anonymous
I got 1.5 mb/s + from Suprafiles and ClicknUpload
