AT doesn't have solidfiles account.
It's all anonymous upload.
We're dealing with pirated content here, of course there'll be some copyright troll hanging around.

Filecloud is usually my main site I dl from. But lately it's been hit or miss. One file will download at 40kbps but then another file will download at 2mbps. Doesn't matter if I cancel and restart. Anyone else experiencing something like this?
19/02/2018 20:01 — Anonymous: "Stoney"
FileCloud is simple like OpenLoad without pop-up, its speed max to my speed as free.
Unfortunately, after certain +GMT (forgot exact hour), the real dl link after captcha is not responding.
File that still downloading will stop too. Already experiencing like this time ago, everyday.
20/02/2018 15:15 — Anonymous: "MeH"
It's quite normal. In many services including OL, one can face with such a problem.
In cases like this, using a proxy and downloading from another geography can help.
21/02/2018 08:05 — Anonymous
OP here. Thanks for the responses. Now every time I use another host to download from, the file completes the download but then disappears lmao the struggle is real. Like I'll download something and they'll be there but then disappear without a trace. Siiiigh.
21/02/2018 08:43 — Anonymous
What? That sounds like you got virus or someone that can access your computer is trolling you. Files don't just diappear like that.

Possibilities are endless ...
That disappearing problem can have many causes, including (but not limited to) hard drive failure, malware problem, downloading with a browser (and not via a download manager) and maybe downloading to a folder you don't expect (due to changes in default download directory).

To verify your system isn't infected with malware, you can scan it with Malwarebytes and NPE.
21/02/2018 17:41 — Anonymous
Thank you for your response! Unfortunately: this is a new computer, I always download to my desktop by default, and I scan with Malwarebytes regularly. I know for a fact that so far it's files from userscloud and openload that do the disappearing trick. Filecloud (when it works) and solidfiles' files don't disappear after I download them.
21/02/2018 18:51 — Anonymous: "MeH"
So it seems your system is clean.
Those two (UC and OL) are the ones that don't support download managers. If files aren't downloaded completely via web browsers due to various reasons (e.g a sudden and short disconnection from the Internet), they can be removed by that browser though it mainly happens when a download is cancelled.

Oh, I've googled disappearing files and apparently it is a Thing That Happens on Windows 10 (kill me). There doesn't seem to be any way to fix it because I've done all the things Google has said. It's just super annoying, but something I'll have to deal with as this computer is new and in perfect health. Sigh.

It's strange! I've read some astounding things that can happen in Win 10, but not this one. (though I haven't encountered any of them myself)

I think upgrading to the latest version (1709) (manually not via Windows Update) and manually downloading and updating it to the latest build (through here) and then disabling automatic updates (it's quite easy on laptops but a bit challenging on desktops) can solve many problems occurring in windows 10. (And don't forget to not install latest updates right away when they become available, because they're faulty at first in many occasions)
25/02/2018 22:25 — codemon
I heard they were gonna implement some anti piracy measures into windows, but afaik those were just rumours. Maybe they actually started doing it? That would be so orwellian :D
26/02/2018 03:54 *Satanswarrior
Its not a rumor. Its actually in the fine print with some of their updates. They just aren't enforcing it much for now. I hope they dont get pro-active with non-Moicrosoft software. Might want to read through these when you get a chance. Some of these have steps to help secure your os somewhat.

Thanks yo but it's Win 7 till it becomes an issue then Linux all the way. Have Win 10 @ work, its a piece of trash: constant updates, eats a lot of space for no reason, has a braindead window switching thing, lots of backwards compatibility is trashed,  driver problems, not to mention the spyware issue.
Sure the ui is slick but at what cost? not finding my way of actually configuring the system? Who knows, maybe steam OS will become a thing and I can finally check gaming off my list.
26/02/2018 20:51 — Anonymous: "MeH"
Windows 10 is good if configured, maintained, updated and shut up properly.
26/02/2018 02:09 — Anonymous
lol? No issues in Win10 Pro 1607.
26/02/2018 13:28 — admin
You may want to do some testing yourself, such as:
- does it happen if you download to a different location? Tried an external drive?
- when does it disappear? What seems to trigger it?
- does the file name matter? (i.e. try renaming the file before download)
- have you tried other browsers?
- does it only happen to certain types of files?
- does it happen to non-downloaded files? Example: save an image or similar to the desktop
- does it happen if you start Windows in safe mode?

and in perfect health
I have a feeling that you're assumption may not be as valid as you think...

Anybody know what happened to aegisub's forum (forum.aegisub.org)?

Haven't been in a while and looks like it's completely gone now. :(
25/02/2018 12:33 — Anonymous: "MeH"
They're gone but Aegisub (last version 3.2.2) is still one of the best subtitle editors out there.
25/02/2018 22:27 — Anonymous
That really blows. There were so many great tips going back for years. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
26/02/2018 00:37 — Yogicat
Nyahaha! #FelineYogi@irc.rizon.net
Nope. 3.2.2 isn't the best. IMHO r8870 is.
26/02/2018 21:19 — Anonymous: "MeH"
If using non-stable releases, why not using the latest build (r8898)?
26/02/2018 23:56 — Yogicat
Nyahaha! #FelineYogi@irc.rizon.net
Some scripts failed to function in r8898 and beyond.

Still using r8818, but only because of an issue with Fonts Collector in later versions.

I'm gutted over the aegisub forum. Did jfs even make an announcement before closing it? Wtf happened?
I even made a post in the forum asking about a donation I wanted to make (well before the forum closed), but no admin or developer answered. :(

It's a bit strange that there are only 3 BD (=BRRip) releases for Sakamoto Desu ga? while it's a rather new anime (2016) and there are many BD releases for other recent anime.
Why is that?
21/02/2018 12:52 — Anonymous
1) no ISOs are available on internet/no one upload the ISOs.
2) no one has interest to sub the show (encode, edit, etc).
21/02/2018 18:42 — Anonymous: "MeH"
If there were no ISOs available, there would be NO (=zero) BD releases not a small number of 3.
However the second reason is more reasonable.

Warning for uTorrent users:

A new exploit has been found in all versions of uTorrent, allowing others to download files from your computer and (for the uTorrent web browser extension) save files (like keylogging software) to your computer.
Details:

AnimeByt.es has already removed all versions of uTorrent from its whitelist.

If you're still using utorrent in 2018 then you deserve it tbh.
24/02/2018 02:43 — Anonymous
Nobody deserves being compromised. It's not like everybody discovers the same info at the same time.
25/02/2018 12:27 — Anonymous: "MeH"
I can't disagree with it.
Using uTorrent/BitTorrent (which went bad long ago) is like using IE, Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Flash Player (enabled with full permission).
Don't use them. There are many other great options for each of them.
One can use qBittorrent or Tixati instead of uTorrent/BitTorrent.
26/02/2018 19:54 — codemon
Someone gets it :D
27/02/2018 03:21 — Anonymous
Anon here who said "nobody deserves being compromised"- yeah, I got it too. :p
That was a statement challenging the idea that people who don't know a thing should be punished for not knowing.

You and I are aware because we read the info somewhere, or maybe someone told us- but my heart goes out to those who have little or no knowledge of what they should be wary of in the first place.

It'd be great if made SSL by default, HTTPS even when loading Anime tosho via HTTP

It's HTTPS by default since long ago without any special extensions installed. Just updated versions of Firefox and Chrome. (and don't you all use their forks!)
