Provider nerfed the account.
Should be fixed now. Thanks for the pointer.

We might have had some DDoS.  If so, it may be an on and off thing for a while.  In any case, our internals and the mirror site never skipped a beat so make sure you have the address:

why not use CF or DYN?

It's not much of an issue for us as things are.
18/05/2020 03:03 — admin
Generally I avoid downtime if possible, but if it has to be done, I try to keep it to a few minutes at most.
It's the unplanned stuff which causes the site to be down for hours, until I notice it and fix it. I think it was around 5 hours this time, so not too bad.

It seems the host powered off the server; they haven't mentioned any reason why. I've seen this happen now and then, but hopefully it isn't frequent.

The problem may be the ass file is bigger than what AT limits allows.

so there no way to download it ?
17/05/2020 06:26 — Anonymous
I now see subs for downloads since then, so I'd say it was probably bypassed for size.  This happened before with a couple of Conan movies.  Bypassed, mkv deleted, mkvtoolnix time for you.

I was looking for a couple files of Planetarian to replace when I found something odd. At first it looked like the wrong Anime.  But it's right show just has a handful of One Piece postings.
Here's the link. https://animetosho.org/series/planetar...yume.12085

FYI
In total there's  5 OnePace (One Piece) posts. on Planetarian.....  I think you can take it from here.
Thanks for always keeping Anime an Anonymous download away.

Now if we could just get FuniMachinations to go back to exporting and leave production of Anime to the professionals. That quality we all use to enjoy will have a chance to recover. Im so sick and tired of shows that are only worth watching one time. That's not Anime is it.
31/05/2020 07:16 — Anonymous
OKay is it just me or does it seem like everyone has gone on vacation. Things use to get fixed right away. it's almost been a week but those one piece posts are still on Planetarian.
Hope all is well. I've got DeBrid so if this goes offline it's not the end of the world. But it will suck

admin, I think it was him, had explained quite some time back One Pace releases are difficult to file under right section. I think only way to do it would be to do it manually and that's asking for too much for a release which is ongoing and gets revisions on top of it. this whole site stuff is automated and One Pace is difficult to address in that automation is what I had gathered from that explanation.
31/05/2020 11:16 *admin
As mentioned by the above commenter, One Pace's naming scheme causes it to be categorized under arbitrary series.
I might try to do something a bit more specific to One Pace when I get some time.
Sorry for the delay and thanks for the comment.
31/05/2020 22:02 — admin
I added a special rule for One Pace, which should hopefully resolve your concern.

I'm using https://feed.animetosho.org with nzbdhydra2 but it doesn't seem to return any server capabilities. I also don't see https://feed.animetosho.org documented anywhere anymore. Is this still what I should be using ?
31/05/2020 11:11 — admin
Different clients do different things unfortunately. If https://feed.animetosho.org/ doesn't work, perhaps try https://feed.animetosho.org/api
If that doesn't work, could you give more details?

Hello, I think newsgroup uploads might be down, nothing new has been uploaded since three hours ago.
02/06/2020 05:23 — admin
Thanks, I'll look into fixing it.

What are your thoughts on having a GoIndex Cloudflare Workers mirror set up? Other than the 750GB/day limit, it seems like a good idea.
01/06/2020 20:48 — Anonymous
Cloudflare has been busy stabbing pirate sites in the back when pressed.  Never use anything within the reach of American courts.
02/06/2020 01:48 — Anonymous
You can easily set up a Cloudflare account with a VPN or even via the Tor network, and a quick copy and paste and it's good to go.

You won't have to touch the account at all even when it goes down. Just rinse and repeat.
02/06/2020 05:24 — admin
Thanks for the suggestion.
Are you suggesting uploads to Google Drive? If so, the provided space would be very limiting unfortunately. I've heard the business accounts have more space available, but I don't have access to such.
02/06/2020 13:13 — Anonymous
There are things such as team drives/shared drives, which contain unlimited space. (400k file count is the only limit)

There are a lot of websites that can give out shared drives for free, not sure if I can post links here. If you want, I have a couple of accounts that are unused and contain a team drive.

Is there an email I can contact, because this mirror addition would be very useful to have.
02/06/2020 17:37 — BetaMAX
#Even a Pawn can take down a King#
Private messages can be sent using /contact.
03/06/2020 04:15 — admin
Thanks for the info.

I did try one of those unlimited drives in the past (I think it was based on their education program), as an experiment, but the account got removed after about 6 months. From what I can gather, it seems that Google periodically goes through and cleans up these sorts of accounts, so whether or not your account lasts is somewhat up to luck.

I didn't bother trying beyond that, however, considering that links posted here don't last long anyway, I don't mind using it for however long it lasts, if someone's willing to give me accounts for it.

As mentioned by BetaMAX, you can use this link to send details. Thanks for the help.

Note that the bot won't be able to sort things nicely, so a tool which just lists the directory (GoIndex) probably won't work so well.

Hi admin,
Can you make our releases of manga sekai get recognized to be in the series page as well?

https://animetosho.org/series/manga-se...nashi.3593
https://animetosho.org/search?q=cpp manga sekai

Lucky for us it's decided to go with that torrent name.

Hello,

I think usenet upload is stuck again. The last upload was from 7 hours ago.
07/06/2020 10:23 — admin
Thanks for the notice.
I've fixed this.

It's a little concerning that this Usenet account only lasted a few days though...
07/06/2020 11:02 — Anonymous
Thanks,
The account was blocked/nerfed ?

I have noticed that since a couple of weeks the Usenet uploads were often lagging behind and had more corrupted uploads than usual.
07/06/2020 11:51 — admin
The last few times posting to Usenet halted, was because posting got disabled on the account.
Usually accounts would last quite some time before it happened, but this is the third account in a few weeks, with this last one not surviving one week. As such, I'm a little concerned over the future feasibility of Usenet posts.

I'm not sure about the corruption or lagging behind bit. Maybe related, but I haven't been checking.
07/06/2020 12:13 — Anonymous
This sounds a somewhat self-defeating thing for them to be doing, given that people only pay usenet fees to download the postings. No-one's paying $100 a year to download Ubuntu.

I remember during the ABMAH war, Eweka had a distinctly pro-posting attitude. Has that changed?
07/06/2020 12:16 — Anonymous
ok, let's hope this will go back to normal and this one will last longer.

I would be really sad to see the NZB go away :(
07/06/2020 16:53 — Anonymous
According to Binsearch they're always missing exactly one part from every file, so possibly some kind of edge case?
07/06/2020 22:06 — Anonymous
Yeah I noticed that too on several of my downloads, each files is missing one or two block. If the files are big enough, as in, ~250-300Mb then the damaged PAR will be enough to recover the missing part, but if it's smaller then it's too corrupted. (For example today : Chainsaw.Maid.2007.DVDRip.x264-HANDJOB is too corrupted to be recovered)

Usually I noticed that sometime, when you have some bigger upload to process (5+ Gb), the upload seems to take an abnormally long time, for example today "[HEVC] Big Windup! / Ookiku Furikabutte [Season 1] [BD 1080p x265 HEVC AAC] [English Dub Only]" took several hours to be uploaded despite being only 7Gb (I was checking the progress on binsearch), when that happen other uploads during or after end up corrupted. Today it is especially prevalent as the upload desperately tries to catchup on its backlog. I wonder if it's not some sort of timeout, if the upload is particularly slow then the last block timeout and is not uploaded.
11/06/2020 03:07 — admin
Thanks for the info!

From what I've noticed in the past (probably the same here), some servers seem to just drop one article from every file. The upload script actually checks for these, and will try to repost them if it finds it to be missing. The problem is, it usually doesn't work (since the provider is just dropping the post), and as the retries are set rather high, it can just sit there trying to repost the same thing, before eventually giving up.

I've noticed all sorts of Usenet posting weirdness over the years, but as all these accounts are via different providers, and displaying similar activity, I wonder if it's a backbone thing.
I've switched to a different backbone, and looks like all the problematic posts have gone up successfully.
I forgot to check beforehand, but according to Binsearch, your Chainsaw Maid example is marked as complete: https://www.binsearch.info/?server=&b=...g>&max=250
08/06/2020 20:55 — Anonymous
It might be a pure coincidence of course but it's kind of strange the upload corruption started getting common around the same time accounts got nerfed at an abnormal rate (i.e. around the 12th of May ) I wonder if there wouldn't be some sort of bug/issue with the usenet bot that causes both the uploading to get corrupted  and, after sometime, the account to get flagged.
11/06/2020 03:12 — admin
Thanks for the thought.
It's probably more the other way around, as I can see errors in the posting logs. I've actually seen the behavior in the past - the provider will randomly drop posts, but still pretend to accept them. The uploader does actually check for existence after the post is successfully made, and detects that is has been dropped, and will retry.
I suppose it's possible that the retries might not be looked favorably upon at their end, but ultimately, the issue is the post dropping in the first place.
09/06/2020 17:25 — Anonymous
Might be worth looking at the headers in a.b.hdtv.x264 and seeing what providers they're posting with. If an NSP is happy with their customers posting HBO and Netflix's stuff, I can't think of anything you could do to upset them.

How about sheer volume?
