Subtitle edit uses some unique identifiers for positioning and line breaks, which sometimes break with ass subtitles made with aegisub (what almost all fansubbers use), so use aegisub: https://github.com/arch1t3cht/Aegisub/releases
Filebot is also better suited for custom presets with support for diverse metadata providers: https://github.com/barry-allen07/FB-Mod

Aegisub is better for creating/editing .ass subs primarily for anime

Subtitle edit is great for editing .srt subs, ie. remove SDH, fix common mistakes, OCR PGS subs and timing to 4k/HDR video files.

TinyMediaManager v3 (free) for file renaming/ nfo creation.

Mkvtoolnix for single file remuxing

MKV muxing batch GUI, for batch muxing

JMkvpropedit for batch editing of file properties (defaut tags, attachment names etc.)

MKVcleaver for de-muxing batch files

Mediainfo for viewing file properties

Genius here ^ doesn't realize that other video types than anime exists....If you stop patting yourself on the back long enough to read, I specifically mentioned anime with aegisub and didn't say anything about HDR anime.

Aegisub couldn't handle WCG files until the newest updates so if you wanted to visually time any subtitle file you needed to use subtitle edit.

I was impressed with the other two posters actually providing information so I shared my most used programs for all viedo files.

Your smart aleck comments aren't helping anyone in the feedback section, save those for the Salieri uploads...

It was nice to have 3 comments in a row that shared useful information and were courteous in nature so I thought I would chip in as well with (what I think is also useful info) and look what happens, more children that can't over a file suffix and a smart aleck that makes incorrect assumptions to make themselves feel good.

Why not get a little mad after that...also read the description at the top of the page...

I would like to point out that i use Mkvtoolnix GUI to do batch files in a folder.
- First i open a file and set its propreties and flags
- Then i save this templates with the option "Create an option file"
- Then run the batch file and all files in the folder are set to the template settings.
(languages, subs, flags, etc...)

Also forgot to say that i use this to combine multiple files from two folders e.g Like [EMBER] video encoding with [Yameii] english audio tracks and remove others, etc...

You can use AI to create the batch file command lines using "mkvmerge.exe" and adapt to your needs.

Of course, this is just an example that serves my purpose; you can try others that fit your needs.

Just sharing for those who what some info in how to:
I like my animes to have "Signs & Songs" so most of the time i just open the full dialogue with "
SubtitleEdit-4.0.2" and remove the lines for all the other actors, then use "mkvtoolnix - GUI Version" to add them to the video file.

I was wandering if i set Japanese audio to default track as "NO" and English audio to default track as "NO" will this get the player prefernce option? If the player is set for english audio as primary language.

Hello Señor tosho, I'm back asking about the caching issue, I mentioned it a few months back, this is actually quite extreme, but this time I got some numbers. For example the torrent "9143a939c0f07a99f2f4bfc32beb2cceda462855" came out at 15:01, but the query I used `https://feed.animetosho.org/json?eid=290125&qx=1&q=!(%22DTS%22|%22TrueHD%22|%22[EMBER]%22)((e*|a*|r*|i*|o*|%221080%22)%20!%22720%22%20!%22540%22%20!%22480%22)` which was queried at ~14:40-50-ish only showed the result at 15:25, appending random garbage to the query such as `o*|` made it available instantly since it omitted the cache. Over 30 minutes of cache time is a bit extreme no? Isn't this what the ETag is for?

Thanks for following up with the info!
I did some investigation into this - the cache should be limited to 2 minutes, but I think it might've been overridden, and empty sets could be cached for up to 20 minutes.
I've adjusted it to 2-5 minutes, which should be closer to what you're looking for, though it's worth noting that the result would've still appeared much later than a few minutes past 15:01:

- that entry was added to the DB at 15:08:02 (15:01 is when it was submitted to Nyaa)
- the episode ID was assigned at 15:10:03 (required because your query includes eid=)
- the subsequent search index update was performed at 15:15:02 (required because your query includes q=)

So with the update, hopefully searches after 15:20 or so would've returned your desired result.

Isn't this what the ETag is for?

thanks for the insight on how shit actually works, too bad it's... not as fast as it could be, but it's perfectly understandable, this is meant to be more of a database than real-time API, but thanks for investigating nontheless

I can probably tweak the timings a little to shorten the typical delay, but yeah, being very up to date isn't really a goal.
If anything, Nyaa doesn't like being scraped, so all requests there have to be throttled.

The cookie is set to expire every 3 months (Feb, May, Aug, Nov). It's perhaps a bit wonky.

In the Faqs/About page in the Can you upload [some arbitrary file]? section, Anidex is still listed as a source but it has been removed

Well, no one really checked the FAQs anyway. Anidex also has just been recently removed. But the point is still the same. AT never uploads torrents, it just mirrors them.
