i wondered why the opening bogged down my pc sometimes...i opened the subs of this episode to fix a line of the dialogue and the OP alone is 34,577 lines long, talk about stupidity.

It's because of particle effect in opening. Me too, but if only I tried to play it 60fps and fullscreen.

Of course if you use MPC, you can always press s key to temporarily disable the subtitle and enable it again after the opening finished.

I just realized that I used external subtitle renderer, when I changed to built-in subtitle renderer. It works fine.
But for older anime especially with sign typesetting or changing entire line and block, it gives unpleasant shade color difference.

Maybe it's the difference about xy-vsfilter and vsfilter, but I don't know which one I'm currently using :D

No OP subs lag at all on an i3-2000 laptop, (1/4th the video processing power of current i3-4000 models), using latest CCCP (July 13, 2014 version)

This is only 720p after all. If you're getting lag, something can probably be improved.

I switched to xy vs-filter (for an unrelated issue actually) and the slow down on these no longer happens, though i still think it's silly and that effect looks ugly anyway lol.
