I will say, things are not hosted all on one server as is. I won't say much more about my architecture other than that.
As for ads, you will NEVER see ads on my site. Even with ad blockers off - there shall be no ads!
Subtitles are already there for things I have been able to do myself (only the last week). I'll try and get a back fill of subtitles for these. If admin does release a full batch of his, I'll definitely carry them over (same with screenshots too).
Audio extracts though... I'm mixed on it... It would be nice, but I feel like I am walking a fine line. It's something I may do down the rode though. We'll see.
Sorry, unfortunately, I won't be uploading to hosters. I have zero plans to do. I won't say "never", but for now, it's not something I'm looking at. :(
Wrong! It was you who stated "Mini encoders tend to spend more time writing descriptions and comments than making good encodes." All the AV1 encodes I've noticed are minis.
" Your releases are mostly mini encodes and barely seeded."
MCR hasn't released anything in about what 6 or 7 years? Having seeds that long is pretty good in my opinion. I bet anything you released didn't last that long or are you just bloviating because they are minis?
Any alternative sites that focus on torrents and not usenet?

Keep it simple maybe? if you want to honour this site.. hmm... Anime2sho (2 being the second coming) otherwise name it as you please. Everyone step aside for god king xerxes. (that's you if you make our dreams a reality) XD
Doxing generally refers to exposing your info publicly. Searching for yourself can be something you try, but that's not called doxing yourself.
If your info is public, trying to take it down or misdirect is likely a very tricky thing to do. I wouldn't hold much hope any attempt would be effective.
Let's hope for the best. "guy" please consider uploading to 2-3 good hoster if possible. I have been using AnimeTosho for this purpose for years and we don't have an alternative for this case. Please.
Torrent/Magnet - yes, they''re already being stored in the database and torrents being saved, but it may take me a few days to get it all sorted out. But they will be there.
Audio extraction: Hmm... good thought... so far my automation has only been going on a few days. As long as it continues to go smooth, I may add that in there. I feel like it's being held up by stitches lol. I may try it... not sure about the bandwidth but I'll definitely consider it.
I appreciate the thanks, but I'd just forward that to *admin*. This is just my little tribute to him I guess.
Honest answer? Because I was using an old script I had for something else that was more geared towards thumbnails and I just migrated it over, completely overlooked that fact.
Just bare in mind the entire site is a hobby/side project - it'll be rough especially in these first days. I do appreciate you mentioning this though, completely overlooked that!

No, he means groups of hobbyists and fans, writing blogs and sharing their ideas and information and expertise. Making money from the web didn't even occur to anyone back then. And if for instance you were into fishing, or golf or whatever, a search engine would bring up hobbyist blogs, that almost always would have decent information, as they were simply sharing what they knew. No one was copying each other as there was no point to duplicating another's blog as there was no money to be gained from clicks.
People's websites, pages and blogs often had links to the stuff they were interested in, they had no reason to keep you tied to their site, thus was the phenomena of "Surfing the net" just following links that bloggers and so on thought were cool enough to share.
If you were around then you'd get it, the only people who need this explained to them are zoomers and people who got into the web after smartphones and social media.

animetosho closing down is yet another nail in the coffin of the web as it was supposed to be.
By that I mean the Internet before it was monetized and optimized for smartphones. Back when retards like us made stuff on the net because it was fun and for why not. Media being shared in the same spirit as you'd lend a vid or cd to a friend
This site, like the spirit of the old internet, will be sorely missed
Thank you, sir. Most back then didn't even realize if they left my files in their torrent client client all the files fell in the same folder. I set the way for a bunch of other groups to do things but they will never admit it. I have no issue with it but have noticed how things have changed over my time.
Sure, I'll ask you for your advice in the future as will everyone else here.... Also how old are my releases? Times change unlike your BS. My "old" releases still have seeds, can you say that about yours?
