Tor:
I'm not sure it would be wise to encourage tor here with a link.  In my experience, these have often been the people who have behaved badly enough at sites to be banned and tor is their only way back.  More bullies than civil libertarians, sadly.

admin left a note here in Feedback a few days ago saying it was a memory problem.

I do read someone claiming to be who he is not and likes to insults others. The only facts known: "There have been many errors the past few days." On gateway 502 search page 308,307, ... read between lines .... it's common. Now this is a more genetic answer. So you act. can't know the real cause (for some1 external). HOW can you know what caused these problems? You can't, just some nap thinking to now everything. Just to let you know: I've tried act. several VPN % DNS Servers. Now attacks here are just temporary, but a tor link is likely to stay active.

And could like anybody stop doing the very wrong assumptions just cause they feel like it? I've seen such behaviour on various sites and it .... rly freaks me out ... how could one just think he guessed it right????

You seemed to suggest something related to the present situation.  Who knew you were an idiot.

In fact gateway errors have extremely rare to nonexistent here, newbie.

Who said it would? Learn reading, or asking before posting. I am talking about situations where it would be some local isp porblematic routing while it would work for others.

If a memory leak is crashing the system would a tor link do anything?

It would be nice though, thinking of those 502 gateway errors.

The AT FAQ mentions using tor but gives no link for AT, so I would say not at this time.

About/FAQ link can be found in the left column under the AT logo

Relating "by default", I somewhat agree. But that doesn't any matter, If someone cares.
I've never recognized a behavior or seen a serious report, that any data is sent, when switch and/or endpoint url is/are disabled in about:config.
Those who don't want to mess around with details, can go with some well known config like:

Anyone seen or made any good anidb userscripts that implements AT in useful ways? For example a link to AT showpages would be great.

I'm using an edited version of this currently but it's not ideal: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/3502...arch-links

That telemetry data is used to enhance the browser only. You can take a look into what kind of data is collected, I don't think that will serve any paid services. Also you don't need to compile it yourself. There are many forks around without telemetry but other optimizations depending on your needs (like if you still need xul compat.)

"compile your own browser" isn't very realistic, hence FF is all their is.

It's been a while but when I last worked with Chrome I couldn't find any of the kind of extensions for protecting personal data that I could get for FF.  It was like a category that didn't exist.

Google is taking heat from governments for ads and personal data.  Firefox is not.

Doremi didn't understand how categories work.

I would have be paused them when they are still fetching.

Kametsu couldn't have prepared "for the worst" due to when/how he established the site. Short version is he was basically a kid and had already linked too much to his real, traceable ID. Gotta feel for him, nobody saw this kind of thing coming years ago when he started it all.

All that said, if I was a member there I'd ask one thing: do the "friendly talks" and "cease fire" with the entities that issued dmca mean that member info was sold out as part of the bargain?

But i hope the "official cease-fire" and "friendly" talks, even after the board was brought online to ensure things are good on both sides and and anything we possibly missed in our initial sweeps are being flagged/reported directly to us to handle by removal rather than additional DMCA's issued. So I want to ensure what we do going forward isn't going to sour that relation."

Firefox by default collects plenty of telemetry data. Don't be naive, everyone is in the data business now. Being non-profit is a tax shelter, not a zero money business. Nothing is free, you are the product. Only way to stop these companies is to cherry-pick open source code and compile your own browser.

Up and down times seem very random to me, so I'm going to start keeping a log, for my own benefit.

Today, after several hours down, it came back up at about 00:00 on the system clock (clock also found on mirror).  I'll see if that holds tomorrow.

Note: Once it was up for only a few minutes then down again.

Chrome is Google and Google makes billion of bucks one way or another with advertising.  So you shouldn't be optimistic.

As far as I know, Firefox is the only not-for-profit major browser, so if anyone cares about their privacy or ads, FF is on your side and everyone else is seeing what they can get away with.  Google could be sued by their shareholders if they aren't doing all that they can to make money out of ads and your personal information.

No thanks I'm good with whats working. No need to change whats not broken.

To the guy with the slow browsers no clue what`s the cause of your problems but they certainly dont cause performance issues. My webpages load in half a second.

Anyway up to you to solve your issues with the options offered or others you may find.

I, for one, will strongly oppose and resist any attempts by Google to cripple uBlock Origin. I'm even willing to migrate back to FF. The internet is a nasty, and somewhat hateful, place without uBlock Origin ;)

damn just get smart and delete adblock and those other three...
then install ublock and it does everything all in one much better.

There is a reason shitty adblock plus is going to continue working on Chrome when Google opts to screw the browser by breaking uBlock and every other blocker that doesn't whitelist their garbage.

The main browser I use is Firefox (I do have Chrome and Edge for backup browsers). With Firefox being open source there are a lot of great add-ons created by 3rd parties.

I have 4 of them installed from the firefox add-ons section listed below. Those along with my Bitdefender Total Security block everything. All redirects, popups, and adds are completely stopped. I never see them at all. Chrome is good but the ad blocking isn't near as good as Firefox with all the browser add-ons available

Adblock Plus
Adblocker Ultimate
Strict Popup Blocker
Adblock for Youtube

Sorry for the recent issues. I don't have access to a computer for a computer while, so can't really do any diagnostics. FPM stops being responsive for some reason, is all I know at the moment. It's happened before but is usually rare, so I don't know why it's coming up more frequently now.

I suspect it'll happen a few more times, so you'll have to deal with it until I can do something about it unfortunately. Sorry about that.
