If Jeodrive is good, it can be kept then. FilesCdn is mentioned above under MultiUp suggested hosts. Cloudyfiles.co and ulozto.net/Uloz.to aren't offered by multi uploaders and they aren't that great (I'm not saying they're crap like Uploadable (Bigfile.to)) to be uploaded to individually (unlike e.g. ClicknUpload and SolidFiles and UsersFiles).
Those numbers reflect just the last few days subsequent to the latest 2.2.6 release. VLC is third in the sourceforge.net overall download count; more than 2 billion downloads have occurred. https://videolan.org/vlc/stats/downloads.html
"Are people using VLC? Just go to https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and observe the download counter as it continuously increments. " Not to mention the fact that many people download software from other (hopefully trusted) sources (FileHippo, FileHorse, Majorgeeks and FossHub) not just the official site. So that number should be much larger (^_<)
First of all thanks for your efforts to keep the site up and running and as useful as possible to users, admin b(~_^)d
Unfortunately dl links will expire eventually, but something can be done (as I've suggested before) to change the situation for better.
What about reviewing and updating selected file hosting sites, admin??? Thanks for ClickNUpload but I really wonder is there anyone here who downloads files from EZfile (filecloud.io), Share-Online, Uploadable (Bigfile.to), FileFactory, Turbobit, Jeodrive, Uplea and Oboom?! (⊙_⊙)
After implementing all my previous suggestions, hosts on AT will be like bellow: Go4Up | Jheberg | MultiUp | ClicknUpload | SolidFiles | Openload or Zippyshare | UsersFiles or UptoBox or UsersCloud
And the selected hosts for multi uploaders: Go4Up: UptoBox | SolidFiles | Zippyshare | UploadBoy | SendSpace or FileRio | 1fichier or Katfile or DownAce | UsersCloud or UppIt or UploadRocket Jheberg: UptoBox | OpenLoad | NitroFlare | Uploaded | TusFiles | MediaFire or FileRio | Mega or 1fichier or Free MultiUp: ClicknUpload | 1fichier | OpenLoad or Zippyshare | SendSpace or UploadBoy | UsersCloud or Upera | FileRio or FilesCdn | Mega or UppIt or Free
And Direct downloads, unfortunately, aren't that reliable but at the end of the day, those are the one which save you. They are saviours. Many thanks for them (^^)b

I have both KLCP and VLC installed. Suspect many others take a similar approach, using a primary and backup player.
VLC utilizes its own internal resources, avoiding potential conflicts with other players/codecs. It has some features that appear absent in (or behave better for me than) what's included in MPC-HC. Some examples would be slow motion control (and it's ability to preserve natural audio intellegibility), aspect ratio cropping and playback geometry. None of these features may matter to you, but if they do, VLC is a great option.
KLCP provides access to core components directly through the program folder in START (for the obsessive tweakers amongst us). The included Media Info and codec tweak tools are very helpful. If you are looking for optimum performance, KLCP is one of the best options (getting madVR just right can make a very observable difference).
Not everyone is OCD, like me, and might prefer a stable set-and-forget player, but I appreciate that KLCP is constantly updated and tested with the latest versions of every component, saving me the trouble of manually updating everything myself.
MPC-BE is another media player like MPC-HC based on Media Player Classic. It's like an enhanced version of MPC-HC.
Of course, K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is still the most powerful media player on earth. (And we all know that KLCP isn't a player but a codec pack. But by installing it, bundled MPC-HC will be installed as the player. And these two together form the most powerful media player out there ;))
I have found a dead link, will it be reuploaded? Unfortunately no, as continually reuploading old files would ultimately require an increasing amount of bandwidth. Also, once the script has processed the file, it is deleted off our hard disk to make room for other files. You'll have to try to download the files from the host before they are removed, or find another source.
You should be grateful lots of dead torrent can still be downloaded from here.
Oh, I'm sorry. Found my mistake. I thought that that download button was fake as in many other mirroring/download sites and “Loading...” refered to the links, but it appears you have to click that to actually get to the links.
I don't know how the feeds listing updating. If the feeds supposed to update instantly when new entries created, I can say it happen frequently with interval 10-~20 minutes of late from normal listing. Sometimes hard refresh doesn't work
If I'm correct and this is the corresponding commit (see "Reported-by" tag), the issue is related to ParseJSS ("JacoSub"): http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=c...ba3557beaa But even if this sub format is uncommon today: It's rather easy to put a crafted file into a MKV container and distribute it.
