Our cooperation was conditional, and Phr0stY will need to contact us again and make some adjustments if he wants that ban to continue for his new releases, now that he's not on Nyaa. So we do have some of his new stuff at the moment, mostly weekly episodes of current broadcasts, and one BD volume for Dragonball Super and One Punch Man, I think.
So thats what happened to Phr0stY encodes. Its great that AT said okay and stopped but its also sad Phr0stY standard(8bit) encodes are preferred when posted.
The new season of Pretty Cure has started. Its called "Maho Girls Precure" Somehow a PV and 1st ep got posted in an older Pretty Cure season called "Smile Precure" Below are links to the new and older seasons as well as links to both titles that need to be moved.
We used to use EmbedUpload. Are there any particular file hosts that would be available from those multi-uploaders that you hoped to get? Or is there some other reason to add those particular multi-uploaders? The multi-uploaders we have now cover quite a spectrum of hosts. And some hosts aren't available to us regardless of the multi-uploader due to our upload volume or other factors, like Mega or MediaFire, for example.
------------------------ I just checked the EmbedUpload FAQ page. They tout their ability to upload files to sites like RapidShare and MegaUpload.
Update: Firefox also blocks the toutbox version as "may contain a virus or spyware", after it had downloaded most of the file.
The solidfiles download, however, has no problems, checks out for correct crc as per file name, is clean according to Norton Antivirus, and plays back normally. So whatever came out of Doki-Chihiro was fine, and what AT sent out was fine (AT's computed crc also matches what's in the file name).
So skip toutbox for this download, if you like. Mkv files can't do any harm as far as I know, but why have unnecessary worries.
Any other toutbox users, let us know if this happens again.
The original file we have here looks like a normal mkv. Perhaps the best thing would be if you could download it from a different service, since no-alarms is better than assurances. See if the problem replicates.
The last time this happened, Horrible or someone would do an end of the day batch of each days' programming to TT. Otherwise, Horrible are posting shows on schedule to irc. I believe we were current on Horrible's releases as of Thursday but none of Friday's releases yet (day and time based on Horrible's calendar and clock, which is PST.) As for the fansubs, it's up to them to create TT listings, or to wait.
By my count, there are about 7 shows from Horrible (various resolutions) that we don't have yet at this moment.
The most legitimate complaints for harsubs are: 1. no adjustability for different optimum playbacks 2. hardsubbing is a mathematical transformation of the visual data. It inherently degrades the video image. You can see this most in how shape outlines are not as sharp as in the unaltered data, and in how shadows are too dark/stark.
I've often wondered about ulterior motives, like Japanese who don't want to be annoyed by hardsubbed English text, or other language groups who want a softsub base and raw to convert to their language, or subscriber websites or individuals that want to claim translations as their own.
Unless you are allergic to Funimation's Avenir Black font and styling/timing, there is no reason to watch with Senketsu's scripts. She doesn't even fine time the scripts.
Public raws are not better than Funi's videos in quality.
No, they're quite punctual as they're waiting for Leopard-Raws. Only one occasion they were late more than 1 week, but they released it double after two weeks.
I intended to watch raws for HO, but after P&I released some episodes, I switched to them (they're using same raws that I downloaded so I just used the patch for their every release).
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not quite willing to do this, due to the effort required (as you may have guessed). The issue with Senketsu is a little unfortunate - perhaps someone may be willing to mux their scripts into the raws instead? That'd ultimately be my preferred solution here.
I haven't checked P&I's fansub of HO because they lag (although not as much as ADZ) a week or so. I suppose that if jpddl.com (my former source of raws for ass scripts) does not return in a week I will check P&I.
I understand adding raws could be a drag, but if you ever do, IMO the raw should be added as an extra download to the ass script (there is no use for the raw until the ass is extracted). At least in every nyaa post senketsu outlines what file the script is meant for, so I suppose a (php? perl? dunno what your website uses) script could extract the name of the mp4.
You may know the group/person called "Pure and Innocent" is providing a softsubbed version of Heavy Objects merged with a raw. You could use the softsubs they provide in their mkv, or use the senketsu subs instead if there is some reason to do that.
As to the larger question, I'm thinking a softsubbed version usually becomes available for most titles, even if it lags Horrible's schedule. And the issues involved in adding raws to our downloads may need compelling reasons. Issues such as how to separate raws from our usual downloads so users don't accidentally waste downloading a raw when they expected translated works; How to separate and download only the raws that have OCR subs available, etc.
Lastly, I would be somewhat worried about changing our perceived audience. With English-translated anime, we sit on a border. If we were to provide either Japanese raws or American programming we might be treated differently by those two industries.
Since you post senketsu subs scripts, would it be posible to also host the raws they use? If you had to do a test run, please make it please with Heavy Object, which is the only series I use said scripts with because a)other series I follow are subbed and released as mkv b)hs release is hardsubbed and I hate anything that includes hard subtitles.
There have been a few isolated page loading problems in the last several hours. Nothing to mention, but I thought I would remind everyone that we have a mirror site if/when you ever have problems connecting to the main site. It has the links but no comments:
They all begin as a new tattoo admin gets each quarter, which are then scanned to the homepage. His arms and legs are probably getting pretty filled up by now.
Nice to see the goldfish back. As fishy as ever, I expect.
Thanks for your note. AT is a portal not an archive, which means: 1. things are available for download here only for a brief period in any case, unlike an archive, and 2. we focus on new releases.
In fact, the download links to the 15 episodes that you mention are about 8 months old and now all dead, I think. So really zero episodes of Saint Tail are available here. Generally, our download links stay alive for 6 - 9 weeks, and we don't re-upload them after they expire. AT creates links for about 100GB of new content each day, and that's enough for us.
Obviously, I don't believe in torrenting myself, but what if someone comes here wondering why you've only got up to 15? (The fact that I generally don't like torrenting is also why I don't know whether or not they've got a fansub attached.)
