Can you add amagami ss+ 2 (chihiro) and several bunch from Kanjouteki (Area no Kishi, Nisemonogatari, and Mouretsu Pirates)? It's missing due to change in tokyotosho (I guess)
What I mean is I expected this century to be more convenient, by whatever means. This site is very convenient, and smartly done. Otherwise, all I've seen evidence of is "Global Dumbing".
Has been asked before if you don't mind trawling through hundreds of past comments. My plan is to eventually ditch this page in favor of some sort of forum setup, which should have it, but I haven't got around to it yet. As for comments on items, possibly. This site is kinda barebones functional, which obviously needs improvement, but I'm currently focusing on back-end improvements at the moment.
Why would you want that,if your contributing to the site then i can see why but not if you just want to make random posts then why have an avatar. On that subject Admin ,would it be okay to for users to post mirrors for series/movies,etc in the comments if they have a premium account on sites like MU,FS,ETC and can post backup links for stuff :)
Yes ,so you can to revert to the blue and white theme .All the purple is too much.If it was a dark /light purple outline with a white background color like the blue theme it would be okay ,but it looks too sickly with all purple.
Cookies, so that it works with guests. Ideally, should do both, but I'm lazy :P
In an RGB colour scheme, blue (#0000FF) is the opposite of yellow (#FFFF00) but opposites don't actually guarantee good contrast (example: the opposite of #808080 is #808080, ie the same colour), and RGB isn't really modeled by our eyes' perceptual capabilities. But in the case of yellow/blue, it's probably fairly accurate.
Yo, fabulous work with the Style Option drop-down. To tell you the truth, I always wanted the yellow theme back; it contrasts with the blue links, so you can read text more easily. It's easy on the eyes. Actually if you use any image-editing software like Photoshop or even MS Paint, you'd see the inverse of blue is yellow.
Is this cookie-related or are you storing theme setting per user? Meh, whatever it is, as long as it works. Again, thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion. Where do you think the link should be? A problem with pulling a random screenshot would be that the script can't tell what's a 'good' screenshot (so it's quite possible it would pick a completely black screen). It's probably better to steal an image off AniDB or similar, which will also stay consistent. I'm somewhat trying to keep pages small and not have too many images though.
What I had in mind was perhaps a page listing series' which looks something like this - this would have your info and images together, though probably won't look as nice (I believe there's a number of these charts around if you can find them - gives you a good overview of the season). What do you think?
That idea's really out there - I love it! In practice though, somewhat tricky, and has some undesirable effects unfortunately. It would require the stylesheet to be dynamically generated (difficulties come with getting the right contrast between colours) which means that caching doesn't work so well. The background image is even more difficult to do... Alternative may be to have a few fixed colour steps, but it won't look as exciting :(
-.- Actually, I somewhat suspected a purple-ish theme might be a little offsetting to some, and wanted to do a green one, but I couldn't find anyone (significant) with green hair in this season's shows... I've added a little thing on the side, but, as I don't like maintaining 3 stylesheets, don't expect it to be there forever.
P.P.S. Your web site is the only thing that makes it possible for me to feel like I'm living in the 21st century. So far, this century has been a big disappointment to the sci-fi of my youth back in the 20th century.
P.S. The link to the group's web-page is very useful for other purposes, but it' surprising how little info subbing groups provide about the storyline/genre of the title they're releasing.
Love this website. But if you're looking for ideas, I'd say one of the common problems is to look at a title and wonder "What's this one about?" Two possible things to do: 1. A direct link to that title's AniDb.net or MAL entry; 2. Suck one of the screen-shots from the info page onto the homepage for each entry. Due to size, this would reduce the number of listings per page, but it seems I get a good impression about whether a title would interest me just from seeing a screen-shot.
The color is a nice change, but how about this: A dynamic color change based on new files created. When lots of new files, veering towards hot red. When few new files, veering towards cold blue.
You'd be the first.
I'd be in favor of more contrast between the in process "grey" and the main color also.
Actually, graying them out helped tremendously. It was hard to spot the difference between blue italics from blue normal text. Now I think it's all good.
I've got to say, although it does bloat the listings a bit I really enjoy being able to see basically everything released that I care about on one page. AnimeTosho is now my one-stop seeing-what's-being-released shop. I'm in favor of keeping the feature unless it's universally hated.
Trying to avoid that. This isn't really a request service. I may do it because I feel like being nice, but it's not where I'm aiming this site towards.
Thanks for the suggestion. I totally agree with you - the limits are mainly in place because of bandwidth/load concerns. Ideally, there'd be none at all. I'm still experimenting at the moment. I'll probably up the limits a bit when I'm a bit more confident.
What do you mean by the request page? People submitting requests? But even if that's the case, it won't inform people of what's skipped (and in one nice chronological listing). I'm guessing people may be just using the listing here to see what's new, rather than checking other sources.
