Thanks much!

I'm not opposed to asking for donations as a form of tipping for your work, however Kimiko's releases are extremely low effort yet he's extremely arrogant about it all.
Don't download this. That uploader is not the official uploader of VARYG releases, this is definitely not episode 9
He uses several different names (Koten_Gars for example), and even asks for donations...
He really has no shame...
"Default English subtitles are completely wrong. They seem to be from the previous episode."
Comment on Nyaa said. "English subtitles are from the previous episode."

This debate has to stop for good.

Most people here have no knowledge on the matter and fail to realize this situation has nothing to do with *liking* the release or uploader, but instead with appropriate encoding *practices*. That is to say not about something *subjective*, but something *objective*: hardware encoders *are* worse than software encoders, it's a well-known fact that can easily be explained by the very nature of hardware encoders and is readily documented everywhere on the internet. You can check out the Rigaya blog for instance.

Defending an uploader who resorts to hardware encoding is doing yourself a disservice because you accept being fed something worse than could have been, granted they put a little more effort into it instead of being a lazy ass. The quality would have been higher using a software encoder and targeting the same filesize, that's all that's being criticized here. If you think it has to do with the uploader, you're greatly mistaken. That would be ignoring what the AV1 community has achieved by bringing together numerous encoders who are willing to learn from each other.
Thank you!
Well yeah, if an user couldn't spot that it was wrong in the first place, that means they have no standards to begin with.
Is your problem your reading comprehension or your brain?
Or you're intentionally covering your ears?
What they said is pretty clear and easy to understand, even for a kid.
Why isn't @admin deleting these misinforming comments?

Q: "I have found a dead link, will it be reuploaded?"
A: "Unfortunately no..."
Most of the DL links don't work. WTF?

GROSS!! The end credits are hard-subbed. I'll pass on this.
Can you tell us which authoring software does that by default?
I suspect the OP may have been drunk posting considering how many files they posted this to, or they have some derangement syndrome. I doubt it will stop anyone who likes this groups releases from downloading.
Software encoders using hardware encodes as a source. Even BD's are hardware encodes.

Bait couldn't be more obvious.

Bait? Sounds like facts to me. All the releases found here use hardware encodes as a source.
Some software encodes are better than others and filtering can only do so much.

Is there even anything to be gained by explaining something to someone who is clearly not interested in listening?

They the kind of person who believes that any and all digital formats are inferior to analogue ones due to compression.

Yup, Erai, Subsplease, Varyg and others are all hardware encodes as well as BDs.
It must be fun to be an anti-hardware snob with all the limited choices of what to DL.
There are tons of poorly encoded software releases also.

Arguing with stupid people is fascinating.
Enough already...
Since you and others are claiming hardware encodes are so bad quit watching CR, NF and others.
BTW quit watching BDs since they are hardware encodes also.
I think most here would agree that those releases are good enough for them.
Are they the best? No, but there are plenty of software encodes that are done poorly here also.
The anon that was shitting on all the INDEX releases just because they were hardware encodes is IMHO just being an ass who most likely watches CR, NF, BDMV etc hardware releases and I don't see him jumping on those.
Since when there's any need to explain why hardware encoding is bad?
You(plural) dont know? Why don't you(plural) do a simple research online? Or even just ask the AI?
This guy made the god's work and shared an extremely important information about these releases, and you go and delete their extremely useful comments? Doesn't really make sense to me tbh :/
Unaware people come here to download a release and read "AV1" and think that this will be like every other AV1 release, and instead they are downloading crap.. not to mention that these releases have FLAC audio..... with AV1..... it should be clear as the sun that these releases are, to say the least, disgraceful.

Anyway, if u really need an explanation fed to you(plural), I just found a good one here: https://nyaa.si/view/2042076#com-3
In short, using a hardware encoder is only convenient for the encoder(person), because it will take less time and effort from them, not for the users, which will get an encode that's literally crap, because it's simply meant for real-time applications, not for downloadable content.
I am 100% sure they meant to write "hardware encoders", otherwise their statement contraddicts itself.
Their brain must've farted for having to explain such basic knowledge.
Software encoders are better quality though. It's hardware-encoded releases that are inferior, as they are meant for realtime applications like livestreaming where quality isn't a concern.
