Why does this website become slow as I try browse it for long time?
30/01/2014 23:31 — Anonymous
Too much opened tabs.
01/02/2014 17:19 — Anonymous
Not really.
31/01/2014 00:12 — admin
Do other websites do the same?
Comparatively speaking, AT is quite a 'lightweight' website.
01/02/2014 17:18 — Anonymous
Not really. I think it's probably a server load issue(?) Site functions starts responding late like: any url on animetosho loads after waiting for long time. This happens after I browse through a lot of anime episodes here in a short time.
01/02/2014 17:19 — Anonymous
Site function like submitting a comment also takes long time.
02/02/2014 03:27 — admin
Well, there's a few things:
- is it slow on the client side - as in, does your browser feel unresponsive?
- or are requests to the server taking a while to load? (I assume that this is what you're suggesting)
- and what is your definition of slow?

Pages take around 1-3 seconds to load for me (this includes posting comments), which is quite reasonable in my view.
Some pages will be slower to load, such as search, or browsing really old entries.
If you were expecting ~50ms load times because you're in the US and are used to most websites being colocated there, then that certainly isn't happening here.

I initially assumed it was a client side thing because you mentioned browsing for a long time. Servers generally don't get slower over time, otherwise it would affect everyone.

I'm sure you're probably already onto this but a lot of the recent content is not on Mega. Looks like it's been happening since yesterday.
31/01/2014 01:29 — Anonymous
agreed, saw this too. Kind of a scary foreboding feel with it lol
31/01/2014 06:15 — ichimoku1134
Massive DMCA takedowns? Good thing there are alternative links available and of course there's Tibb with his links.
31/01/2014 09:25 — admin
Unfortunately, hardly the case...
Mega now forbids sharing anonymously uploaded files, which obviously breaks how the uploader works.
Not really much I can do about it, so well... Mega's gone...
31/01/2014 10:22 — ichimoku1134
Well I have no complaints. There's still AF and Dev-host works great. Since Mega's gone for good, any thoughts on splitting files larger than 500MB and uploading them to dev-host?
31/01/2014 10:53 — Anonymous
ahh that's too bad.. I used to import a lot of stuff, did you try using a free account? with my free account I was able to import over 70 GB even though it said the limit was 50 GB: http://s15.postimg.org/c7h48unwr/image.png and I can still manually upload more stuff, probably the real limit is something like 200/250 GB for free accounts.
31/01/2014 14:46 — admin
Thanks for the tip.

Perhaps so, but AT uploads around 50-100GB per day (for each host), which would quickly exhaust even a 250GB "real" limit.

Technically, it's probably possible to bypass limitations (overfill accounts and constantly create new ones), but stepping back for a moment, it seems like Mega want to clamp down on these kinds of things. Which means it'll only be a matter of time until they cover up the holes.
01/02/2014 12:41 — Anonymous
is there any other host who makes possible to import stuff in our own accounts, like mega?
05/02/2014 16:17 *AMZMA
@admin, check this one.
v-vids(.)com

I haven't upload any file yet, but please take a time to check it.

31/01/2014 14:24 — Anonymous
Ahh that's unfortunate. Speeds with Mega were incredible, even without having an account.

thnsx anyways
31/01/2014 17:28 — Libly
MultiUpload's Direct Download or DevHost is good as I'm mainly using now
31/01/2014 23:28 — Anonymous
How long do files usually last on DevHost?
01/02/2014 05:41 — Libly
Devhost has been added just since 26 Jan, so the first file has Devhost link, still works.

Where's [HorribleSubs] Kill La Kill - 16 [480p].mkv, etc. at?
31/01/2014 23:26 — Anonymous
I assume there's something wrong with the fetcher at the moment. Hopefully it's fixed soon.
01/02/2014 00:16 — Zero3K
admin, Please fix it.
01/02/2014 00:56 — admin
Updates are being paused for the next few hours - server maintenance and stuff.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Don't sweat it, you're doing a great job! (And I'm writing this while having the shakes from anime withdrawal.)
01/02/2014 11:18 — TS_Kid_11
This is a really great site, thanks you so much, I've been looking for anime DLL site since otakucop is down, and devhost is pretty much filling its lost right now :)

// The only thing is the "Episode Updates Page" is so hard to see (distinguish the shows I mean) hope you can do sth about it, thanks for the great site again :*
02/02/2014 03:15 — admin
Thanks.
The episodes page was mostly for fun, but if you have suggestions (e.g. make titles bold) I'm willing to take them into consideration.
04/02/2014 01:22 — TS_Kid_11
Well, it's been very useful for me, the episodes page :). And, yes, can you make the anime tittles in that page bold with a larger font size, it'll be much help.
04/02/2014 04:33 — admin
Well, it's bold now.
Hope that helps.
04/02/2014 15:04 — TS_Kid_11
thank you. And I'd love to have an option to change the page's time into different GMTs, so we can see which anime got DLL link in what time ( our local time I means :) ). If  you want to see the page's original one, you can always set it back, hope you like this idea.

I need mega back admin-sama ;_;
02/02/2014 08:22 — ichimoku1134
Is there any reason you can't use any other hosts?
02/02/2014 16:39 — Anonymous
Well mega is the fastest on for me even faster than XDCC so I rely on mega for fast dls
04/02/2014 02:02 — ichimoku1134
So it's not that you can't use other hosts, but rather, you prefer downloading from mega. Anonfiles and dev-host offer great speeds you know. Though you might need a download manager to get that speed, like IDM.
04/02/2014 16:47 — Anonymous
Tried it but mega is still faster for me ;_;
05/02/2014 04:54 — Anonymous
Boo Hoo. You can get a 400mb file in 4/5 mins from Anonfiles, the wait won't kill you.

If you really want faster speeds then buy premium somewhere, I've gotten up to 6MB/s from Uptobox with premium, which is faster than I've ever had with Mega.
07/02/2014 03:08 — Anonymous
I have shit internet because I live in rural USA. pls understand
07/02/2014 04:17 — goldfish
>the wait won't kill you

yes it does
05/02/2014 04:58 *Envy
Ah Mendokusai....
If you want it that badly then just wait until Tibb post his links up there's a mega link in the jheberg link.

Hi, where is :

[ChihiroDesuYo] Nourin - 04v2.5 (1280x720 10bit AAC) [F57E1D38].mkv ?
02/02/2014 08:21 — ichimoku1134
Server must be under maintenance and stuff again. The site hasn't been updated for almost 7 hours.
02/02/2014 16:35 *goldfish
Sorry if this is out of topic and kinda wrong place, but I don't know where to ask (I talk about anime stuff just in AT and 4chan, and I don't think asking /a/nons is the right choice). Anyone know what happens to BakaBT? I can't visit the site and all of my torrent tracker links are closed by peer.
02/02/2014 17:06 — Anonymous
Something broke when they were backing up the server, no ETA on when it will be back online yet.
02/02/2014 22:20 — goldfish
I see..... I thought my IP was banned.

Thanks for this info, Sir...

For Anonfile corruption, please add: use 7-zip software to extract or open. cause i can't extract it with winrar but i can extract it wih 7-zip
06/02/2014 21:51 — admin
What version of WinRAR are you using? It should be fine if >=4.00, to my understanding,
07/02/2014 04:15 — goldfish
Yeah, maybe he's using < 4 version, because I can't extract anon's 7z with my 3.6
08/02/2014 22:11 — Anonymous
well, add that to the AnonFiles Corruption Page cause it help a lot for who dont know about that.
08/02/2014 23:42 — admin
AnonFiles isn't the only host that we wrap files in 7z though, so it isn't really appropriate there.
I'm guessing WinRAR 3.93 is actually the minimum version which supports all current 7z encodings, was released over 3 years ago, as was 7-Zip 9.20. I think there can be a reasonable expectation that people aren't using ancient software, especially considering that a lot of anime is released in Hi10P, which mainstream support for only came out in late 2011 (and we don't provide assistance on how to play it back).

But regardless, there has always been a note about it in the FAQ page.
Does that seem alright?
09/02/2014 17:31 — Anonymous
i didnt notice that
well, its okay, good job
