For any interested, Japan's NHK News recently added to their free live stream of their English-translated broadcasts.  You can watch live earthquake updates and damage footage.  Normally, they have half-hour news on the top of the hour followed by half hour cultural programs (travel, cooking, etc.)

Thanks for that. All the best for them. Their population is already dwindling and now, they got it rough by earthquakes again.

"Bakedfish" are HorribleSubs re-encodes.  HorribleSubs hasn't released ep 2 of this show yet, no reason given on their series page.

It was delayed due to earthquake TV coverage.

We also got another earthquake on Ecuador with near 300 deaths. Man, the earth is pretty unstable these days. Time to build Sidonia.

Recent scientific studies have proven we're all going to die someday.

Until then, do good and watch anime.

Can you please make it so when you click on one of the mirrors it opens a new tab?
I understand that a middle mouseclick does exactly the same but it seems so much more convenient than taking my current tab to the filehost. Sometimes ads pop up which you can't back out from. Then I have to load up a new tab with this site and do a new search all over again. Maybe do the same with all other links, especially the ones that redirect you to external sites, that way managing what you're looking for seems more natural. For me it would make the site better.

Ah Mendokusai....
Well Ad Blocker or Ad Blocker Plus works well in blocking ads and there's many other adblockers out there.

In addition to the handy ad-blockers Envy discussed, there are ways to add to or alter how your computer handles links.  For example, if you're using Firefox, there's a nice add-on you can configure to click and drag to open links in a new tab.

Extra benefit: if x parts to download, form a box around the parts and it will open x tabs.

http://snaplinks.mozdev.org/

Credits to admin for finding this handy add-on.

If you're not using Firefox, you can see if your browser has something similar to offer, or if it allow you to define defaults for opening links in options, or whether you can alter button actions in your mouse driver.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm a little unwilling to do it at this stage as users may be used to the current behavior. There are also a few drawbacks with doing that:
- difficult to open the link in the current tab, if that's what you want
- opening in a new window/tab is actually not allowed in standard XHTML, though I suppose it doesn't really matter
- although it's not too hard to tell which links are external, it may be a bit ambiguous as to which link opens in new tabs

I suppose it could be enabled via a preference, but to be honest, it'd be pretty low on the priority list (read: not likely to be done). Sorry about that.

Might be another weird bug with Usenet.

This episode: Sansha Sanyou - 01 (1280x720 HEVC AAC)
https://animetosho.org/view/sansha-san...mp4.979955

It was uploaded 3 times in the last 8 days, which isn't too weird, but the first segment of the first part was uploaded 21 times with unique messageids http://pastebin.com/raw/H6DzHAK0

It was only the first segment of the first part as well, every other segment was uploaded at most 3 times.
Doesn't really break indexing, just sort of weird.
20/04/2016 12:53 — admin
Hmm, that's a good find there - thank you!
There is indeed something weird about that post with the server. It seems like it refuses to respond to that one particular post, but the post actually goes through...

The first two attempts failed, the third one was forced through to complete (so that file won't be posted again) although it had the same error.
Here's the upload log for the last attempt: http://pastebin.com/raw/AihZ526z

Maybe I should change things so that post timeout = try checking if it exists, before actually reattempting to post.

Can AT deploy a model where users register a mega account when they have free time then they give them to AT? Should that get round the 50GB limit per account? I mean, mega is a really good host and accessible almost everywhere.

The creation or auto-creation of new accounts would only be part of the puzzle.  AT would also need an automated way of passing new logins and password info to the output queue as necessary and auto-switching between accounts.  And in the end, AT has been blocked by address by a file host that didn't want our traffic, so trying to get around a file hosts' intentions is problematic in many ways.

Instead, you might find AT's Usenet uploads to be worth the cost of access, for a general solution.
22/04/2016 23:30 — Anonymous
So it is more complicated than passing accounts around. Thanks for replying anyway.

What's the best/fastest file host to use? I use solidfiles it's been fast and the convenient to me,but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on other stuff is there a host better you guys would suggest or?
24/04/2016 12:01 — Anonymous
Sendspace... no doubts. Solidfiles have too many pop ups. I use some solidfiles downloader to download from there. it saves my time from pop up hehe
25/04/2016 04:30 — Anonymous
Solidfiles is the best host on this site regeardless
27/02/2018 13:45 — Anonymous: "MeH"
Sendspace is crap compared to SolidFiles, Mega, OL, UL, CloudyFiles or even UtoB.
25/04/2016 03:38 — Anonymous
To some extent, it differs for different people.  For me:
solidfiles: 7-11MB/sec, no wait times between files, no restrictions on number of files.  Ignore any ads or update warnings.
1Fichier: up to 3.3MB/sec, minimum 5 minutes wait between files, up to 1 hour.
sendspace: about 5MB/sec, 2 files or 500MB per hour limit or so.

I generally use sf, with 1Fichier to fill any holes.

Jeodrive is variable speed but no limits, I think
25/04/2016 22:54 — Anonymous
I personally like Userscloud and Usersfiles. Solidfiles is pretty good as well.
28/04/2016 15:31 — Anonymous: "Anonymouse"
How to remove onclick ads on Solidfiles? I use ads block, however it has no effect on Solidfiles...
28/04/2016 23:28 *Anonymous
I don't think it's possible to avoid solidfiles ads when using manual downloads anymore.  But they can be avoided by using a link parser program, like Jdownloader2.

Manual downloads: There is no content link on the initial sf page.  You have to click the page to get to a content link.  This spawns ad window(s) and reloads the original page providing a content link.  If you do manual downloads, you should make sure that your Flash and Silverlight plug-ins are kept up to date, due to a recent problem at other media sites.

And you may avoid addition mis-directions by using a download manager and it's filter, like FDM ( http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ )

Auto downloads: Jdownloader2 trips everything, gathers the content links and ignores the rest.  Still a good idea to keep those two plugins up to date, probably.

(Getting Jdownloader2 - find the forums from the homepage, use the dl in the forums to avoid some ads in the install process, I guess.  You also need to have the Java plugin running in your browser.)  (Java can pose it's own security problems, but meh.)
http://jdownloader.org/

P.S. Solidfiles has changed what it does several times in the last few months.  You may have to adapt to more changes.

Quick tip that has never failed me on solidfiles: temporarily blocking the javascript on the page will let you download the file directly, no popups, redirects, or anything. Then you can download however you like (right-click/save link as, use your favorite downloader, etc.)

Btw, firefox users who have tabmixplus installed can simply do this - http://i.imgur.com/pejkPpU.png
(right-click to get these options).
29/04/2016 02:04 — Anonymous
That's a nice tip.

Here's a different way: Install the Firefox addon "QuickJava".  It gives you buttons to enable or disable Javascript, Java, Flash, Silverlight, etc.  Disable JavaScript before opening the solidfiles link.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef...quickjava/

I think admin mentioned this add-on some long time ago.
