admin, how about adding to your scraping scripts a line that simultaneously adds pages to archive.org's wayback machine?  also, if you ever decide to shut everything down please contact archiveteam like pomf.se did? http://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Pomf.se

everyone else, check out https://blog.archive.org/2017/01/25/se...omething/.  even if future websites/trackers go down, it might be easier to recover some stuff if the pages are archived
04/05/2017 08:24 — admin
I'll leave that to someone else...
Although that seems really wasteful, to be honest. Maintaining a database and distributing that makes much more sense.
If I do decide to shutdown, I'll keep that in mind.
04/05/2017 09:30 — Anonymous
ah, space shouldn't be an issue for them, but i see what you mean.  at least with the wayback machine it'd make it easier to find stuff when sites go down.

but yeah, keep archiveteam in mind for the future.

Saizen said she will be re-uploading their torrents in batch since nyaa dead. Can you make an reception for them? Thanks

can you make exception for sage's re-uploads in new batches too?

Thank you.

Direct links are available by clicking on individual episodes.

I get this msg:

"Could not retrieve file. Unfortunately, this is known to happen from time to time, but sometimes it fixes itself after a while. Perhaps try again a few hours or days later."

Ah Mendokusai....
DDL is working....at the moment
05/05/2017 21:32 — Anonymous
It's working for me too.  I've found that Firefox's native download often works when download managers have trouble with Direct links.
06/05/2017 01:49 — Anonymous
It's working for me.

Keep trying later. direct dl has issues sometimes.

Archive.org already has like 400+k of the Nyaa torrents archived. Mostly older stuff, from before ID 600k, but still.

I wonder if it'll get purged...

yeah it's a good archive but the owner dun goofed in the magnet link scheme
He should remove the "%0a" at the end of the hash that creeped there for some reason.
04/05/2017 10:17 — Anonymous
this shit already posted.
04/05/2017 14:37 — Anonymous
That shit is ancient. And almost all Nyaa ppl know that site.
04/05/2017 08:10 — Anonymous
does anyone know where is the official of this codecs vanished @@
http://tokyotosho.info/search.php?username=roger
when nyaa get closed he suddenly vanished does anyone know him?
04/05/2017 10:33 — Anonymous
just another anon, re-encoding CR rips to HEVC.
04/05/2017 10:50 — Anonymous
yes i know. But his re-encoding not like anyone else
His rips is just amazing
04/05/2017 12:35 — Anonymous
These encodes were originally uploaded to Nyaa and since Nyaa is dead, so are these torrents.
I don't know where or if the Encoder is uploading now, as there was pretty much nothing known about the encoder.
04/05/2017 13:48 — Anonymous
if you want a ray of hope, (s)he probably used scripts to gather Horrible's releases, re-encode and distribute them, and it may take a while to adapt to the new realities.

if s(he) wants to continue, s(he) will.

In case you people dont go to 4chan, there's better nyaa archive site:
https://nyaarchive.moe
04/05/2017 15:33 — Anonymous
Non-ancient archive. Thx, m8.
04/05/2017 17:29 — Anonymous: "nick86"
nice, but at this point is better if we wait for Nyaa 2, i read that some people are already working on it, hope all go right and we can see back soon both nyaa and sukebei.
04/05/2017 18:12 — Anonymous
most fansub groups won't go there.
04/05/2017 18:41 *timo97
At any point, it's always better if there are multiple options. Especially until something gets established, when even a simple archive can help to keep those torrents alive.
04/05/2017 18:45 — Anonymous
problem is that many of them were seeded via only  http://open.nyaatorrents.info/announce
04/05/2017 20:19 — Anonymous
Obvious solution is to snipe the domain when it goes on sale, and put back the tracker.
04/05/2017 21:12 — Anonymous
sure, if you can fork up 10-20k +
04/05/2017 21:38 — Anonymous
It's not being sold, it's expiring.

You just need to be the first guy that pays $20.
04/05/2017 22:26 — Anonymous
Traditional domains ie .com/.net/.org/cctlds, yes.

New gTLDs, no. They can raise the renewal price on your domain or steal it from you. They say it is "premium" and you are screwed.
04/05/2017 21:53 — timo97
Or somebody could just put together a script that would convert the state files for the more popular clients, in-place. You'd just run it on your computer and all your Nyaa torrents would have all the public trackers in them.
04/05/2017 22:28 — Anonymous
given that ppl who were seeding before actually update the tracker list by downloading the new torrent, which 99% time, they don't.
04/05/2017 22:56 — timo97
That's why i said "in-place." People won't do it manually, because it's a pain. If a script fixes up stuff for their client, that's different. I'm 99% sure nobody's gonna build that script, but I threw it out there just in case :)
05/05/2017 00:18 — RamenSub
Can confirm.
I'm too lazy to do that.
For now I will just be uploading and sharing my collections here and some other DDL sites.
04/05/2017 21:51 *timo97
Your client will complain about the tracker, but it will get the peers (if there are any) through DHT just fine.
04/05/2017 22:22 — Anonymous
over 30% of them won't. and that the rare/obscure stuff that was only obtainable via nyaa. that's the real tragedy.
04/05/2017 22:58 — timo97
But they are the ones without peers, so they wouldn't work with a proper torrent file either. Or am I missing something?

By the way, I'm trying to salvage the torrent files from archive.org; there are literally hundreds of thousands of them, especially from before the 600k id.
05/05/2017 02:58 — Anonymous
> But they are the ones without peers, so they wouldn't work with a proper torrent file either. Or am I missing something?

Tracker dead > DHT turned off > seeders delete torrents > shit lost.
05/05/2017 11:45 — timo97
I don't get the part about "DHT turned off."

Isn't DHT is independent of trackers? AFAIK the trackers in a magnet link are just FYI and downloads work just fine without them. That is, if there are still peers who have the torrent so it can be passed around...

Anyway, it would be lovely to scrape DHT for whatever torrents are still available. I'll try to do that. For now, I'm grabbing whatever's available on archive.org; I already have like 4GB worth of torrent files, including the ones shared by our friendly Admin here.
05/05/2017 13:26 — Anonymous
you do understand that some ppl turn off DHT in their torrent client setting?
05/05/2017 14:19 *timo97
I would think people will realize Nyaa is down and those torrents won't work without DHT... Anyway, I like to look at things in a "let's make the most out of this shit" point of view instead of "let's worry about all the different things that can go wrong" because it's just more productive, you see.
05/05/2017 14:31 — Anonymous
ppl said the same shit when Demonoid when down
04/05/2017 20:10 — Anonymous: "nick86"
Indeed more options are welcome, Animetosho is a great site, the layout is a true crap (but maybe i'm biased cause the minimalist theme of nyaa) but as torrent aggregrator is a nice alternative for both nyaa ans sukebei.
Anidex and Animerena both sucks, Tokyotosho is not bad and is curretly updated pretty well, is my second alternative.
05/05/2017 02:16 — admin
There's already established alternatives though. "Nyaa 2" sounds good in name, but that's about it...
If you're looking for something that's just like the original, you might be disappointed.
Or if the alternatives aren't good enough for you, perhaps help improve things or at least suggest improvements to them?
04/05/2017 17:23 — Anonymous
@admin : Could you please remove this one. It's faulty

https://animetosho.org/view/animerg-ca...do.1092449
04/05/2017 17:34 — Envy
Ah Mendokusai....
Deleted.
Since they removed it from tokyotosho.
04/05/2017 18:20 — Anonymous
05/05/2017 14:21 — timo97
Have you tried it? I'm looking for different stuff to scrape torrents off DHT.
05/05/2017 00:28 — RamenSub
Would be better if at the front page or at every anime page to put a reminder Please try all the links listed before requesting a reupload.
05/05/2017 00:42 — Anonymous
No font is big or bold enough to make a difference.
05/05/2017 02:16 — admin
Actually, the text below the post box says that reuploads aren't performed...
05/05/2017 14:45 — Anonymous
A post-nyaa world thought:

Delete HorribleSubs entries on AT that have a separate batch torrent and just add those batch torrents to AT. Because of size, those batches are mostly skipped.

It's something to think about.
05/05/2017 22:57 — admin
I'm not quite sure I get what you mean...
Do you mean that once a batch comes out, delete the individual entries?
05/05/2017 23:45 — Anonymous
Opps! Yes, that's what I meant.
06/05/2017 00:44 — admin
I don't understand the point of doing that though?
05/05/2017 03:11 — Anonymous
I'm sure you have already seen ppl claiming to have tried all links, only for me to check the post and point out that it's not true. So it won't make much of a diff.
