well, nothing much you can do if your phone not good enough to play the video you want to play
other than killing all unnecessary processes/tabs.

Is marriage life will ruin your weaboos life?
That's won't do. I've tried it. My phone is Asus Zenfone 2.
I look forward for phone will later play HEVC with decent framerate.

13/06/2017 11:37 — admin
The only way that's going to happen is if the phone has hardware accelerated HEVC decoding, which I don't think your Bay Trail CPU/GPU supports.
It's probably still quite a way from CPUs being able to software decode that (and even if they could, they'd likely chew battery).

Newer phones have hardware accelerated HEVC decoding, but one thing to note is that hardware decoders are often quite strict on what they'll accept, so a HEVC decoder doesn't mean it'll work on any video (for example, may not support color depth required).
13/06/2017 23:09 — budhiargomiko
Is marriage life will ruin your weaboos life?
So the conclusion is HEVC still not fully adapted on phones. Thanks for the explanation m8.

Just a note that the server serving Direct links is likely going to go down soon.
I've been having trouble getting the last payment to go through as it keeps getting rejected somewhere. It's been overdue for a number of days now, so I expect it to get suspended.
13/06/2017 17:38 — codemon
Damn, so ddl was out of your own pocket? Admin you are a saint. Ever thought of starting your own cloud hosting? I could cover at least some of the cost and you most definitely have the know how.

We are ONE, we sail under the one banner, WE ARE THE MEDIUM PIRATES!
You got that now? Running the site alone costs an arm and leg... let alone other storages.
But AT starting its own cloud doesn't seem to be a bad idea. And a good way to help. That is if Admin is interested.
13/06/2017 21:55 — Anonymous
I am not sure, reading it - it seems to be some technical problem. But yeah.
And guess that donation is off due to more focus as making money with it?
About own cloud - depends on where you're living, but generally that's not a good idea.

14/06/2017 00:02 *admin
Thanks for the suggestion, but costs aren't the problem - the DDL server is just a cheap €3/m VPS (that I just need to pay €3 to get working). It's just that all my payment attempts are getting rejected for some reason.
Cloud hosting is a whole different ball game that I have no interest in entering. The DDL server is really just a fancy proxy running over a few 1Fichier premium accounts, so ultimately, we're just abusing something that a provider is already offering. Because of that, I could just set up the proxy on a different host, but there are many that offer the same amount of bandwidth for the price.
14/06/2017 00:25 — codemon
Ah so it's something like a premium link generator except ad and fee free for the ungrateful leechers. I'm guessing even if they cancel the gateway so to speak, if you get another VPS the files won't also go down. Good hosting you found there though; unmetered bandwidth, nice.
About the cloud hosting yeah, seems like a hustle now that I know how things work.
I have to hand it to you admin, you are full of clever tricks. I'm really curious what scripting language and programs you use  :D

Thanks for the suggestion, but

> Bandwidth: 100GB

isn't even remotely going to work (the DDL server transferred around 1TB daily).
14/06/2017 04:10 — Anonymous
14/06/2017 04:14 *admin
Sorry, that's 1TB/day, so around 30TB/month (in+out). I also don't want to be limited to that, so 50+TB/month transfer is ideal.

The other thing you have to be wary about are providers that offer "unlimited" transfer, as well as whether they can actually push out the bandwidth despite marketing claims.

I have been trying to use the Newznab/Torznab feed mentioned in the FAQ with Sonarr to automatically grab NZBs. However, I keep getting "Unable to connect to indexer" when trying to add AnimeTosho as an indexer in Sonarr. Is the API broken or am I perhaps doing something wrong?
13/06/2017 13:00 — admin
Perhaps check this issue: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/1384
You may need to use an in-development version, if those fixes haven't been released.
Otherwise, if the issues mentioned at the bottom of that page don't apply, if you can get some sort of log, it'd be helpful.

I have found a dead link, will it be reuploaded?
Unfortunately no, as continually reuploading old files would ultimately require an increasing amount of bandwidth. Also, once the script has processed the file, it is deleted off our hard disk to make room for other files. You'll have to try to download the files from the host before they are removed, or find another source.
Why so many dead links? (for a recent file)
It seems that many multi file hosters available nowadays are quite unreliable, so this may cause files to simply not be uploaded to various hosts. Also, files are always uploaded anonymously, so often will die quicker due to inactivity. Finally, they may simply be removed by the host (either through direct reporting of the link, or hash match with another report). We are looking at ways to try to mitigate some of these issues.

for the record I just use a vpn with shadowsocks. connected to one of our local internet provider that's all.

Coz our provider doesn't really provide internet for free so we make a way to have some access to internet without paying ? that was my internet
15/06/2017 04:31 *admin
So that's a VPN (PPTP/L2TP/SSTP/OpenVPN?) over Shadowsocks right?
Have you tried just connecting via Shadowsocks directly? (turn off VPN, direct IRC client to use SOCKS proxy)

Other things you could try, if you're interested in doing so:
- try connecting to other IRC servers
- if there's any that run on different ports, try those as well

I can't split the shadowsocks vpn connection.
Is this some special provider or something? Shadowsocks is a SOCKS proxy, and isn't a VPN. You could tunnel a VPN over a proxy, if, for some reason, VPNs are usually blocked, but they're two separate things.

VPN is a software or apps that hide your internet activity from your ISP or government.

Do .bat, .cmd or .vbs scripts run? What if you changed the .exe to .scr, or maybe renamed it to something like rundll32.exe?
What browser(s) do they run? Do they have a copy of any MS Office applications installed?

Hey admin could I suggest adding zippyshare for files <200MB. Many mini encodes are less than that and the speed of that host is fast. Only 1 month keep alive without download but its one of the fairer hosts around and if popular files would be kept alive more. You could use https://github.com/mcrapet/plowshare to simplify upload and not have to develop yet another script.
Another decent host I've found is ulozto.net . I can find a few obscure things there and the speeds are fair. Dunno much about uploading though.

I'd have a few more host ideas like google drive/yandex disk, even 4shared but that would require ppl here donating/making accounts and some coding on your part. Files would definitely be kept alive more if zipped and obscured like you do now. How do you fellow leechers feel about this?

P.S. Thx for the tool list. dunno how I missed that. Aria2, I see you're a man of culture as well

Those have been already suggested before, along with couple of others. Everything needs to be tested before deciding.

Indeed zippyshare has been used in the past. Just saw some old links with it. Damn, there's probably a reason its been dropped.

zippyshare is currently available at AT for files under 200mb on Multiup, but you have to go to the Multiup page to see them.

Indeed. My bad on that one. Just looked at some of the newer stuff and they all have it.

I don't mind the idea, but I do recall Zippyshare being used within a multi-uploader somewhere (pointed out above).
I can look into ulozto.net.

Donating accounts is an interesting idea, but considering the really small quota they provide, I really can't see it working...

Again, my bad. I assumed AT scrips parse everything; multiup does indeed have zippyshare, you just have to go to their actual link like anon mentioned.
About accounts ... I've looked a bit back and it seems like AT pushes about 50GB of data each day (I mean the size of new torrents not the bw used to send them all over the place). Is that about right? So 1 MEGA account and like 3 google/yandex/4shared accounts per day.
Hmmm ... maybe if you dont use them for HorribleSubs' stuff (since they're huge and their stuff gets downloaded a lot and mirrored everywhere anyway) and for raws (since encoders and subbers would get it by torrent or irc).
That way you could keep the more obscure stuff alive for more. Idk ... sorry for being pushy, I know this isn't an archival site.

Edit: nevermind, people would still need to make accounts for this to live. I know a few game release sites that use google drive and it works pretty well, but they probably upload by hand. It would need a lot of coding for it to work automatically but the linchpin is the human factor and random leechers vs dedicated realease group is a no go.
Thanks for looking into ulozto.net. It might work pretty well for archiving as well.

Current average is around 120GB/day, but obviously varies. You can grab a copy of the raw data here and if you can come up with a workable rule set, I can consider it.

a few game release sites that use google drive and it works pretty well, but they probably upload by hand
Google Drive currently has a number of loopholes. In fact, I have been trialing one for a few months, until they recently banned it.
GSuite for business, which offers 1TB storage, doesn't actually enforce limits, so that may be what's being used. GDrive does limit downloads however, so actually using it for distribution may be difficult (unsure how your game release sites deal with that; perhaps they just don't hit limits).

I really do like the notion of being able to archive all the data we process, but I just can't see any practical, reliable, solution that I'm willing to pay for. The Direct link system is the best I could come up with so far.

Holy crap 43 columns. I tried sqlite for that but I'll just stick to a csv editor. From what I gather you can tell what group uploads what so ... just don't use the archive for tosho_uname=hs and the other things you already skip. HS is pretty big and well known. The host in place rn and the sheer size would assure them being available. I could suggest other groups but I'm biased towards small sizes.

But like I said admin, accounts would be needed still. Even if you could get by with one a day 360 per year is still a pretty insane amount. if 36 leechers would each make 10 it would be ok but that's pretty far fetched.

Getting a google drive premium would be ok, from what I gather the limit is per leecher not per file itself. Something like a downloader quota.

Another stupid suggestion of mine would be to use an account on something like tusfiles and use the rewards to pay for premium so that files never expire. But that would open up a whole can of worms as when money is involved if there is trouble the liability increases.

Maybe we should ask r/datahoarder what to use lol, they even managed to get amazon to change their policy.

admin modestly forgets to mention that he is already archiving all the stuff AT processes via Usenet.  Not free downloading, but probably available for 5 years.

Horrible is probably one of the most popular downloads here, if you're suggesting skipping them that sounds like a bad idea.

A portal that provides temporary access to new releases like AT is probably all that is really viable.  A summary archive is doomed: On a public host it would eventually disappear via change in policy (Mega, Mediafire, etc.) or death of host (Anonfiles, DevHost, etc) .  On a private host there are the high costs, DMCA removals and liabilities.  All for what, newbies?  Fans just have to stay current with new releases as they become available, or cry in their soup for what they missed.

For suggestions, it seems that what AT needs are automated, unlimited, free (mostly) uploads.  Probably not paid accounts or group volunteer concepts.
16/06/2017 00:33 — Anonymous
p.s. I believe Usenet is another of admin's paid accounts, just to mention it.
16/06/2017 00:57 — Anonymous
You don't need paid account to post to Newsgroups.
16/06/2017 02:37 — admin
I don't know of any free way to post to Usenet, but the cost is very low as uploads don't count towards block quota usage.
16/06/2017 08:20 — codemon
I meant skipping horriblesubs for the archive not the normal hosts AT already uses. Save what is not popular, stuff that if it dies it's hard to get anywhere else. HS is popular so it's available through many channels.

I agree with you that volunteer will probably not work. There are too many useless leechers (as is expected), many of whom probably don't even read the feedback page.

AT is great for what it does. Just a longer term memory would be even greater.

something like tusfiles
1000GB doesn't last long, and you'd constantly need to maintain more and more accounts, which I can't see as being sustainable.
Currently there's about 60TB of files on our 1Fichier accounts, for the Direct link system.

Thanks for the ideas nonetheless.
16/06/2017 08:44 — codemon
Admin ... I'm just gonna shut up ... 60 TB omfg ... I'm clearly over my head here, didn't realize the true scale of this thing.
Usenet may not be free but is indeed a great way to archive this stuff. 1Fichier is a long time player so it's probably safe for now.
Looked at pricing and it's one of the better deals out there. You clearly know what you're doing so I'm just gonna go back to leeching.
