Bakedfish is updating already in Anidex, why won't you?
08/08/2017 18:36 — Anonymous
I noticed that you're not putting recent Anidex releases. So, are you dropping AniDex altogether?
08/08/2017 19:30 — Anonymous
API changed may be?
08/08/2017 19:42 — Anonymous
Dunno. Whatever the reason may be, technical or not, recent AniDex releases are not showing.
08/08/2017 19:48 — Anonymous
It's been 16 hours since AT's last scrape from Anidex.  But you might have to wait a while, maybe a few days, if there's been an API change.  August has traditionally been a semi-vacation period at AT in previous years.

It would be nice if you could make do with substitutes for a while.  I'm sure admin will get to it when he can.
08/08/2017 19:55 — Anonymous
Thanks for the explanation. Honestly, I know nothing about API changes.
08/08/2017 20:24 — Anonymous
As always, post the AniDex torrents you want on TokyoTosho to have it fetched on AT.
08/08/2017 20:33 — Anonymous
I just want all the new Deadfish-Bakedfish releases from today. They're too many of them to link all right here. If i have to, I'll do so.

I leave it here, I don't have the skills and the motivation to continue. Thanks for your advice. My only request is that the AniDex issue can be solved ASAP.

Does AniDex have an API? I've always scraped pages directly.
Anyway, it appears that they've removed the need for Javascript to browse the site. Which is a nice touch, but unfortunately breaks all my scrapers, so I'll need to update those to deal with the changes.

Why the server is down?
09/08/2017 06:41 — admin
Which server are you referring to?
09/08/2017 09:24 — Professor_fX
The direct one
09/08/2017 11:54 — Anonymous
The server isn't down.  Even though the K-On listed below doesn't work for me right now either, here's a random show where the Direct link still works for me right now:
https://animetosho.org/view/shoujo-tac...kv.n819911

But that's always how it's been with the Direct links: If they work for what you want, great, but if they don't, they don't.

It's probably pretty impossible to archive 120GB per day for several years.
09/08/2017 18:56 — Professor_fX
https://animetosho.org/file/horriblesu...mkv.256360

This one was working till yesterday tomorrow, there is no way that a complete batch like that just disappears!
09/08/2017 19:34 *Anonymous
Why a whole batch would be unavailable: I think it is due to when the files were processed.  Files processed at the same time tend to have the same problem, that's been my experience.  So when part of a batch is unavailable with Direct links usually the whole batch is unavailable.

That's how it has seemed to me, at least.
09/08/2017 20:15 — Professor_fX
Yes, looks like it is the only explanation.

Then i hope it fixes itself after a while as it says.
09/08/2017 21:03 — Anonymous
There is a more reliable archiving system that AT also sends their files to called Usenet.  Stuff there is expected to be available for 5 years, probably.  But you have to subscribe to a Usenet service provider to access.  Wiki Usenet for details, if you're interested.

Some might have access to Usenet through a school network.
09/08/2017 21:29 — Anonymous
If ppl can't afford $5-10 seedbox, they won't be able to afford Usenet.
09/08/2017 21:57 — Professor_fX
For now, Can any of you provide me with the "ass subtitled files" for all episodes of shippuden?

(the fan-subbed files, not  horrible-Crunchyroll subtitles).
Thanks in advance!
10/08/2017 20:37 — Anonymous
since no one else has commented, I'll say that I don't think any group has fansubbed this show for a long time.

But I'm no Naruto expert.
10/08/2017 21:11 — Anonymous
http://dchublist.org/hub-322.html

30-40% of earlier episodes in good quality fansubs are hardsubbed. Otherwise, VIZ translated dvd subs are your best bet.
11/08/2017 04:31 — RamenSub
It's just that nobody care enough to hunt for the subs, even Professor_fX himself.
Protip: aniDB
11/08/2017 04:47 — Anonymous
I checked aniDB on his behalf.  It doesn't list any English fansubs of Naruto Shippuden anymore.

I don't think the last 300 eps have a fansub.
11/08/2017 07:32 — Anonymous
LOL?

Taka subbed till ep 352 (hardsubs), then Kurama till 385, then Hatsuyuki till 430 (unless you can get NKS releases), Rest are HorribleSubs (Crunchyroll/Viz).
09/08/2017 22:36 — Anonymous
It also used to be that some people didn't like to use credit cards on the Internet or didn't have credit cards.  Don't know to what extent that's true these days.

But that's why AT is great.  You just have to keep up with new releases as they come out.
10/08/2017 01:24 — Anonymous
You can use a free XSusenet account, has 3 years retention and 25GB per month limit on 2 mb/s dl speed.
10/08/2017 02:00 — Anonymous
Thanks for the info.  That's pretty interesting.
10/08/2017 04:44 — admin
Seems like 1Fichier finally carried through on their promise of mass deleting files from the account. They've deleted about 66% of the files on the account, as for which ones, it seems fairly random.
I've managed to save a fair portion onto another account, but I'll need to update the URLs here.

I've just go a warning on another 1Fichier account with using too much space (currently around 29.5TB). I'll probably try moving some off, but I suspect this will reach a point where I'll just stop being bothered and let the files die off.
If anyone's interested in trying to save them though, I can consider dumping a list of links.
10/08/2017 05:25 — Anonymous
saving best releases better than redundant files. It's just not realistic. IA/TAT r/DataHoarder all have same problem.
10/08/2017 05:41 — RamenSub
If you could that would be great.
I'll save what I deem to be rare.
10/08/2017 06:27 — Anonymous
In case anyone doesn't know, I believe admin is referring to his Direct links system.

So any Direct links not available right now may be not available for a while.

Make it yourself. There is a raw version on youtube as well. Transcribe the hardsub version and time the script to the raw. It's so easy to do.

10/08/2017 16:37 — Anonymous: "YukinoAi"
It is already on TT: https://www.tokyotosho.info/details.php?id=1122174

I am asking for an exception to be made to the skipping policy (16GB). The torrent is 17GB.
10/08/2017 16:50 — RamenSub
In hindsight, you should've split your torrent so each part is smaller than 16 GB so that they get fetch by AT
11/08/2017 11:41 *admin
The 16GB limit is to reduce load on the server, not because there's any inherit difficulty with processing larger torrents.
I would kindly ask people not to attempt to skirt around limits this way. If everyone did this, I'd be forced to lower limits (and it is less tidy, particularly for users of the torrent index). We make exceptions all the time, usually if there's spare capacity to do so. I've pushed this one through as it's not that big.
10/08/2017 16:38 — Yogicat

Are you the uploader? If so, you have already had a copy and the ddl links wouldn't be useful to you.
10/08/2017 16:43 — Anonymous: "YukinoAi"
The idea is that such links would be useful to other people, which why I uploaded it in the first place.
10/08/2017 16:45 — RamenSub
you can do it yourself then.
10/08/2017 17:43 — Anonymous
Exactly.  Several torrent authors put MEGA links in their torrent page if they believe ddl is what people want.

Also, you could have OCRed the Czech PGS sub to make it smaller.

The [Kamigami] Chinese subs you are using is Simplified Chinese. People who look for Traditional Chinese will be disappointed if you don't state it clearly.
10/08/2017 17:06 — Anonymous
I could not have OCR'd the Czech ones since they are not in native SUP format.  Rather I ripped them from a fansub.hardsubbed.mkv file. They actually show the background in the image.  I do not know of anyone else who has done something similar.

OCR'ing such a source file would not work with any-level of acceptable accuracy and would also require a native speaker to fix the mistakes (I do not speak the language) so it would be impractical for me personally OCR them. It was either that or not include them at all, hence the disclaimer in the description.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kamigami subs. Usually the meta-info in the mkv handles this, but I forget that Matroska uses a language code format that does not support differentiating simplified and traditional chinese.

I will update the description to make this explicit. Thanks for the feedback! ^^

Nyahaha! #FelineYogi@irc.rizon.net
You could have OCRed the original hardsub release and time the script to your raw. Those pgs sup is a mess and most lines will be very hard to read.
10/08/2017 17:36 — Anonymous: "YukinoAi"
As-is, the image-based subtitles are about ~95% accurate. The OCR success rate (image->text) under those conditions is about 20-40%, depending on language, and I have no ability to provide the other 60-80% of the corrections necessary due to not speaking the language.

As stated in the description, those files are provided as-is, with no warranty either expressed or implied.

However, if you are interested in providing better quality Czech subs for 18-25, I would be happy to update the files in light of your contribution.
11/08/2017 12:16 *admin
I'd actually prefer a PGS over a potentially broken OCR'd script unless someone intends to correct all the OCR mistakes. I haven't seen this one in particular, but most PGS subtitles are acceptable quality (after all, it's what's actually being sold!) so it's mostly a size penalty you're paying for using it.

An alternative may be leave the PGS files as external so that most users which don't need them don't have to download them.
11/08/2017 13:41 — Yogicat
Nyahaha! #FelineYogi@irc.rizon.net
Those PGS aren't the normal ones we are used to in blurays.  These PGS files are made from screen capture crops and look very out of place.
12/08/2017 03:19 — admin
Ah I see, thanks for the explanation.
11/08/2017 13:42 — Yogicat
Nyahaha! #FelineYogi@irc.rizon.net
I have seen enough bodge job OCR and those gave OCR a bad rep.
11/08/2017 20:29 — Anonymous: "YukinoAi"
The alternative to providing them is not to OCR them, it's to not provide them at all.

1-17 are softsubed by Aniki-Team and are provided in ASS format. 18-25 have no softsubs available and the only copy I could obtain was a hardsubbed version by Hakuhodzo no Sensei.

Most Log Horizon releases do not include any foreign scripts at all, however I have gone out of my way to include them in an image-based softsub format (.sup) because I figured Czech viewers would appreciate having some subtitles for 18-25, even if they can be distracting at times, over no subtitles at all, or subtitles only for 1-17. OCR was not a viable option for reasons described above.

They are not actually that bad for dialogue, especially considering the alternative. Each episode is ~350 MB. Just download one (epi 18+) to see for yourself: https://animetosho.org/view/log-horizo...c.1121909. I have also created an imgur gallery for the dialogue at the start of epi 22: https://imgur.com/a/y7Mz2.

They are fine sometimes, distracting at other times. If you would like to make them better, I will happily update the image-based softsubs for accurate text-based softsubs if you would care to provide them. Otherwise, I am done with this project and intend to move on to Season 2. Incidentally, Season 2 has all 25 episodes softsubs in Czech, but German only has hardsubs available.

Unrelated: Thanks for providing such a wonderful service!
12/08/2017 03:19 — admin
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was trying to address a potential concern regarding the size by suggesting that the files just be left not embedded into the MKV, e.g. put in the Extras folder or similar.

I'm not saying that you should do this. I don't actually think the added size is a concern, it was just merely an idea.

Thank you so much for really going out of your way to be as accommodating as possible. I think the effort put in clearly shows, not to mention the amount of information you've given is nothing but phenomenal. I don't think I'd ever go to such lengths to do what you've done.
