Why?
If you're worried about the space expiry thingy, just fill it up.
Nobody have yet to report that their files deleted by MEGA, even when their files total size is more than the allocated space.
i.e. Dashboard shows 51+ GB of 15 GB.

Firefox may have just disabled most of your add-ons including ad-blockers, as FF enforces new policies. Hopefully your favorite add-ons will come back after they comply.  Or not.

FF offers substitutes which for me won't install at this time.

Mozilla's statement is a certificate issue and they're working on a fix (some hotfix available):

Edit:
On android 66.0.2 disabling xpinstall.signatures.required works for me as temporary fix to enable ublock Origin
(warning: unsave for new add-on installs!).

Feeling important are you?

I read FF's notice.  My purpose was only a heads up and basic info, especially to any who rely on ad-ons for their defenses.  It stand as such.

Try a new hemorrhoid creme or don't put you head up you ass so often.

And your reaction made me thinking, maybe you did feel important telling your FUD. Basic info would've been: There is a issue with disabled add-ons, Mozilla is working on it.

The best part is that mozilla's official blog "workaround" was to allow telemetry. :p

Not surprising at all, since google urls have littered firefox's about:config for years now... along with 3rd party data-collecting garbage like pocket, hello, and not long ago that asinine Mr. Robot fiasco. I use firefox but I still hope this makes people more aware of the innerworkings of the self-named "privacy" browser.

Thanks for the head's up. I always remove mozilla's urls related to updating/addons/other-call-home stuff in about:config. None of my addons in my main or portable firefox were touched.

Firefox have let me down a bit. Still use version 66 and it was not affected. Have forgotten reason I stopped loading new versions, just remember a new version made changes that made it difficult if not impossible to use some of my favorite features.

Yeah, 63 removed 'never check for update' option. Only way to go manual was to be constantly bombarded with update notices. Not surprised forced auto update caused problems.

That's right.
But the very problem of Firefox that made me not use it since months ago, though I still have it installed and updated, is that it's just awful at managing RAM and is a complete resource hog.

I have eagerly used it in the past (and tried to not using monstrous Google's Chrome!). At first I had ABP installed on it and opening 12-13 tabs usually resulted in a system freeze or sudden reboot. Later I found out that ABP is a resource hog itself and replaced it with uBlock Origin. But the problem of very high RAM usage lingered on.

One day a crash made me so angry and I decided that I won't use Firefox again, and switched to Chrome. Right now I have about 20 tabs open with no problem just like many occasions that I have 30+ tabs open with no problem.

The (sad) fact is that Google Chrome is much superior than Mozilla Firefox (even the latest 66.0.2 version) at managing resources.

Sad fact is that blocking things you don't want is a resource hog. The problem grows withe each new version of all popular software. Apple users gave up the opt out foremat long ago. As vista, 8 and 10 pushed more people toward mac - microsoft, mozilla, and soon everyone else decided consumers would put up with lack of choice if they hid the crapware more effectively.
If I ever get a decent internet speed offered in my area I would probably surrender to (what kills my current limited bandwith) auto everything.

I also hate auto-updates and disable it (though they've made it harder and harder and it usually needs registry modification nowadays) everywhere from Chrome and Firefox to Win 10 etc.

I wish it was just auto-updating. Most software has a feedback or info gathering function to help them serve you better. These are becoming harder to turn off or bloc. I may try the reg edit on new version of FF. Currently my win 10 machine just gets turned on and connected to the net once a month to keep it updated for when my win 7 machine craps out. Yes, the win 10 machine has a superior chip, video card, and 30% more ram. Only problem is the win 7 machine does almost everything faster other than virus scans and photo editing.

I've heard people claim the reverse too. It might be related to the types of sites you visit and if they optimise for Chrome or not. It's known that Google penalises non-Chrome browsers on their own websites (intentionally or otherwise), so if you often have Youtube/Gmail and the like open, Chrome is probably the most efficient browser for you.

You can always choose to use multiple browsers however, which can be useful if you like segregating behaviour. Also consider alternatives like Ungoogled Chromium, Brave Browser, Palemoon and the like.

maybe you've got something else going with your system... just DLed the latest Firefox, and also using ABP with literally DOZENS of tabs open and my comp's running fast and smooth. Prior to this I was having add-on problems like alot of people, but the latest update fixed it and I didn't even have to uninstall-reinstall everything I had before. --- No program / system will ever be perfect and not needing updates, but your post sounds like you're on Chrome's promotional staff or something, LOL

sorry, not trying to give anyone a hard time, but God knows how anything Google invades your privacy, so why use anything they are attached to if you can avoid it? --- Seriously, if you're having Firefox add-on issues, check their site and download the newest, and it should fix the problems and probably speed things up for you. - cheers!

for those having issues with Firefox add-ons, it looks like they just released an update that fixes the add-on problems. Try going to their site and downloading it, then do the obligatory restart or whatever, and the add-ons should be fine. May or may not have to download the newer versions of your preferred add-ons (check your add-on options if this is a concern for you), but yeah, should be back in business after that. - Hope that helps FF users having recent issues with their ad-blocker and other add-ons.

I don't know if any background stuff got tighter, but for this season, tosho didn't miscategorize any of the new shows into the wrong anidb ID. yay!
