Putlocker creates a "mobile" small version for free download (but you have to register to download it).  To get the original file, you have to buy a membership.  Unless you already had a membership there, it's not a good option.

Paid memberships are a bad idea because:
1. These companies fold faster than Superman on laundry day (a very old joke)
2. You link your identity with a place where anonymity is your best policy

At the top of this page is a link for all references to Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou here at AT.  I looked at a few other versions and I'm seeing a very active DMCA wipe all over the place, so I wouldn't hope to find any live dl's left.  But this is the second or third group that did a version of this.  If a 4th group does a release, grab it quick.

Signature based virus scans must be so far behind what serious bad guys are up.  Scary.

Compression depends on content.  More action, more scene changes, more textures mean less redundant information which means less compression is possible.  With encodes, you can either set a file size and take what quality you get, or set quality standards and take what file size you get.  Fansubs mostly like to maintain quality standards and take what size is required.

As I recall Commie's version was 287MB.  That will probably be the smallest.  What you'll lose is gg's often more colorful dialogues.

I decided to take a look at this for laughs.
Ran the .exe in a Windows XP SP3 box. Nothing seemed to happen, but the process remained active (typical virus behaviour). Rebooted the machine and it seems the .exe would actually do something - when run it shows a dialog to encrypt files from. The program registers itself with .Encrypt files, so to decrypt, you'd just double-click, enter the password and it goes.
Perhaps your system is now infected, but at the very least something may stand up in excitement, if you try hard enough.

Interestingly, the actual encrypted files created by this encrypter includes the password in the file itself! Meaning that the "encryption" is dubious at best (password is in the last 0x38 bytes of the file, the preceeding byte indicating the password length; the password itself is scrambled a bit (lower nibble of each byte is subtracted from 0x10), suggesting that whoever designed this scheme intended to try to hide it).

Of course, using some weird encryptor as opposed to using RAR encryption is dubious at best, so obviously I don't recommend trying this out unless desperate.

Never run an exe file or macro.  Media files by themselves are harmless (mkv, avi, mp4) but no exe to create or unencrypt or whatever.

This is one of those we've been getting lately that want you to run an exe called "FileEncrypt.exe"  Norton Internet Security reported a previous version of this file and package contained a viral payload, stealth type, aimed at personal and financial information.  I don't think the fellow who tried it got any porn at the end either.
