Couldn't have said it better myself. Frieren's for the people who wanted to like Mushoku Tensei, but can't stomach characters that are flawed, and need their precious protags to be goody-two-shoes.

This show is copium for people who are too weak to handle MT. Frieren is such a snoozefest and barely anything cool happens. Characters have the depth of a wooden board. The ONLY thing good about it is the OST and art style is nice. (I do not mean the OPs when I say the OST. Especially the yoasobi song, which they did just for more popularity and not because the song itself matched the vibes of the show)

Hi, consider getting AV1 from other releasers originating from our "weeb edition" community (Sokudo, Kosaka, Ironclad,...), as I typically cover the shows I care about or want to see a release of and that's it.

For people with normal standards about video quality, I'm sure my encodes are enough, but it'd be a lie to say they're visually comparable to the source at 1/8th the size. We're constantly working to improve AV1 software and our tooling so quality can only go up in the future, these are exciting times for sure.

yo Trix, I just wanted to ask if you’d consider doing more weekly releases and maybe fixing those Crunchyroll videos (the banding and grain are pretty bad).
Also, since you’re an AV1 expert, are your AV1 releases visually comparable to the double-sized AVC ones?

Fixed in v2 and the latter won't happen in subsequent episodes. The former is caused by Crunchyroll and automating font stripping is bound for errors, so unfortunately it will keep happening for now until the batches or manual v2's.
