Underrated part of this site is being able to see deleted torrents.

ADMIN - Are you going to inform us, if the site will become "comunity" or if it changes hands to some one else, before you go?
18/02/2026 17:05 — Anonymous
I think admin said "shut down" not "transfer ownership". You can read more here : https://animetosho.org/about/shutdown

I see, no legacy.... Sad so many here willing to continue admins work and he is going just shutdown, i hope someone can duplicate the structure/functions of this site and move on with it.

You understand. It is a betrayal. There are many different avenues the admin could take but instead they choose to betray the piracy community and kill the site.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Let us see you start your own site and work it for 15+ years.
He hasn't made any money by choice and you are here bad mouthing the man because he isn't doing it your way. This isn't Burger King.

Throw money at him!

Right, the admin didn't SAY anything about transferring ownership, but they did plan on releasing the backend operations code and such for those who are interested in attempting to make a successor website (which I do hope will happen after May 2026 approaches).

I see, hope is the only thing remaining...

Does anybody know which one is the best release of Death Note (2006)?

AFAIF many releases are badly upscaled or filterd, so that letters in the credit roll are terribly corrupted.

IMO Yurasyk's encode is the least bad option despite being 720p (the show isn't native HD anyway), which can be found in Arid's release: https://animetosho.org/view/arid-death...2.n1987936

Oh man! After seeing the message I can't help but feel a bit sad :'(

I have started my anime journey with this website and have been using this excellent service for the last 3 years mainly to download weekly episodes, find new series to watch and looking into the details of different releases via the mediainfo.
I also quite like AT's pure html aesthetic (reminds me of the old web) which is more functional than fancy.

As many have already said, thank you very much admin for providing this incredible service for free for so long and wish you good luck for your future endeavors.

Love ya admin-kun <3

I know asking for feature requests when the site is going to die in a few months is futile, but here it is:

You've recently added nekoBT and often many releases are uploaded to both nyaa and nekoBT, but by default if the site registers it as a nekoBT upload, it seems to skip the nyaa one? Take for example:
https://animetosho.org/search?q=salcho...dalist s02
First 2 episodes and all of S01 is on nyaa, last 2 episodes are also on nekoBT. Currently animetosho does not include the nyaa link, nor do they archive the nyaa page including comments. This does matter because nyaa does get plenty of comments, still the primary site people use, it also makes the nyaa torrent archive incomplete.

Wait, people use Nekobt?

The Nyaa entries are marked as duplicate and thus not shown in the index, but they exist:
https://animetosho.org/view/salchow-me...c.n2078831
https://animetosho.org/view/salchow-me...o.n2076261
https://animetosho.org/view/salchow-me...o.n2074216

For the cache, you can just change the ID at the end of the URL, which also works for non-Anime categories.

hi,

i am very sad that you are ending your grate service, but thanks for doing his for 15 years, i hope someone will take up the torch and keep running (maybe youll still find a suitable suppressor to hand all of it over to).

In the meantime it would be good if you could bundle a package of all the attatchment/subtitie package including database relevant dump  or csv lists of all your attachpks (like https://animetosho.org/storage/attachp...hments.7z) so they can be archived and hosted somewhere else. Its one thing when a torrent goes out of seeds but when it had some important subs you could always go here and get them and put them together with another video file, so this is imho one of the most important features of AT ;)

Thanks in advance

maybe strip the big ttf (font) files from the rest and just keep a txt file of removed attachments, recompress the remains and bundel them all to a big torrent and share it (maybe wth a commenttf.7z next to it) together with an xz of the relevant relatoons (csv)...
22/02/2026 06:47 — Anonymous: "MrT"
commenttf.7z=common ttf, like dont put the fonts multiple times in but cut them out of the mkv attatchments 7zs and bundle them so each file is packaged only once...
relatoons=relations (like which attatchment file is related to which name, magnetlink, url (nyaa/tt))

so maybe also a good idea to bundle multiple mkvattatchments under one 7z so it can compress away common style stuff and thereby reduce more size, but put an list next to the 7z with its content (like filename.7z_l.xz)

hope that makes my bad description more clear

thanks in advance

You can find dumps of the attachment metadata here.
Attachments are stored individually as .xz files. I'm planning to bundle them up somehow as a final dump, after updates stop.

Thanks for everything. This has been my go-to site for years. I hope a good successor launches before May.

Thank You, admin. I have appreciated you for around 15 years now and am grateful for what you have done for the community.
I am one of the "groups" you grabbed.
