As this site is drawing to a close. I want to find a site that is similar to this. I miss all animedao vidstream and more. Its so hard I like downloading videos to watch. As like nyaa torrents burns my phones battery.
Id like to ask everyone to help for a site I can download videos while not being overclutered and ad rattled like the others.
Thank you and I hope this site would get an extention instead of me suffering to find a new site.
My Life is in a mess already these shows help me thoguh it.
Collage I can't find a major I like nor the time to look for it takeing care of life. With all this I thank you for reading this.

I only stream the free channels my TV offers and some YT stuff.
I download stuff I don't have physical discs of and I do have a lot of physical media.
Many reasons to DL and archive stuff you like: Better quality (audio & vid), streaming doesn't work if the internet is down or you're somewhere with no internet, streaming sites may remove what you are after etc.
A few years back people who bought shows from Crapple lost them when Sony pulled the license and Crapple didn't refund the buyers.
If buying isn't owning, pirating isn't stealing.

If only that was true...

Shiru is always playing catch up with Hayase's features, and they pretty much write none of the code. They just forked old Miru, slapped some dogshit JS on top of it, and call it "better", and whenever any actual problem shows up they go "oh yeah its bugged in upstream, idk how to fix it", and wait for Hayase to fix the bug in their dependencies, so they can take the fix/update to latest version and be happy after doing no work. They also still use Miru's old API for metadata, and the fact that hasn't been taken down yet is insane. Gotta love the constant code stealing from Hayase too, they even got DMCA'd over it once, then went "oh yeah we'll talk to our lawyers", after which they compiled with the takedown, lawyer probably told them "wtf you're stealing code what did u expect" lol

How much of the codebase do you think you will be able to open source and how easy would it be to selfhost with some knowledge of linux systems?

I'm hoping to release pretty much everything needed to run this.
I don't expect it to be easy. The setup isn't exactly straightforward, and the code wasn't designed to be run by others. Someone might make a container or similar to make setup easier, but I'm constantly tweaking the code, meaning that those unfamiliar with it (i.e. everyone except me) are going to face challenges.

Thanks a lot for your hard work over the years, your site is super useful. I am genuinely sad it will be going away, it helped me through a lot during the lockdown. Ive not been here through all 15 years, maybe only 5 or so lol.

Thank you admin. I really appreciate all the hard work you've done to the site; it's been a joy for me to use this site for over a decade and I'm deeply saddened to see it end. I hope some one else can take up the mantle.

I remember finding this site years ago while looking for subtitles for an old anime and was shocked that a site was so convenient and well designed for many things that I've been lurking here for years now. I've been into anime for over forty years and I can't think of a site I've used as long as Anime Tosho. The next closest was probably Anime Take which iirc was killed off around the same time as you started and i only used that for like eighteen months.

Anyway, I wish you all the best and once again thank you.

Thanks a lot to the admin for running this site for such a long time.

I found a lot of older series here that could not be found elsewhere. Except for the DVD version of Happiness from ray=out. The torrent (https://www.tokyotosho.info/details.php?id=515364) is dead and there are some old listings on animetosho: https://animetosho.org/series/happiness.4594
Does anyone know if there is still a working download available for this anime?
